Default big screen on RC line?

Which cruise ships have the BIG screen on the deck for RC lines? Thanks!

I know Princess does and I think Carnival may have some as well, but not Royal Caribbean as of yet anyway.

Don't be so quick to judge. I'm guessing you've never been on a ship with a Lido deck jumbotron. These TV's are great. You can follow along with poolside activities from anywhere. In downtime, Carnival will throw in some concert DVD's to watch. And what's better than watching a National Championship college football game in the middle of the ocean under the stars? That's where I've watched the last two.

I have indeed been on ships "with Lido deck jumbotrons" and I just don´t like going on a cruise to watch football games and the like.

I'm with Roland on this one. I like being able to go places where there isn't a TV or something else media related blaring. Maybe it would be nice for a few hours in the evening for movies but that's about it. Just for sports or other crap...No way.

I would enjoy this feature on a cruise ship!

Changing the subject slightly, I also wish Royal's screening room showed first-run movies like the Disney ships. We saw the premier of the first Pirates of the Caribbean onboard a Disney ship, and that was wonderful! The rolling of the ocean matched the rolling on the screen. I always think of that trip whenever I see anything related to that movie series.

I.m another guy who likes to get away and do different things while on a cruise, don't need tv or newspapers, or sports.

Just because it's on doesn't mean you have to watch. It's gotta always be all about you though?

I find it disturbing you get all verklempt over a little TV on a ship. It's rare what they show has anything to do with what's going on around the world. But how would I know? I'm not you after all. What about the TV in your cabin? Do you unplug that? Do you hate music on ships as well? The disturbs the peace just as much as a jumbotron.

Music as disturbing as a jumbotron? Are ya kiddin' me?

One of the things you hear parents (at least good ones) say all the time is that one of the things they like about cruises is that it gets their kids away from video, tv, computer and all the other screens they have their faces buried in these days. Alot of vehicles are even starting to come with dvd players in them...No more looking out at the countryside or being aware of what's going on around them for a kid in a vehicle anymore....Just eyes straightforward on the idiot box. Do most people want a game or the news on a huge screen with the speakers blaring while they are sitting by the pool? Again, maybe for a few hours after dark for movies etc. but not all day long.

Wait... who did I quote? You're not listening to what I am saying. You're missing my points. I get that you don't want it to be like the TV at home, but for the umpteenth time, it's nothing like that. Which ship were you on that had a screen like this?

I watch tv at home , but on a cruise I would not need a giant screen out on the main deck. That said, I will be on the Carnival Liberty in a few days. Once I experience it I will see if I change my mind or not.

HAPPY HOLIDAS TO ALL OF YOU

FOR THE UMPTEENTH TIME, they don't play TV shows (save for a big playoff game or something, for which there will be high demand to do so). It's not like you'll see Anderson Cooper or The Real World or Family Guy or anything.

You people don't listen.

McLovin yes we listen, however some of us like a ship the way it is without the big screen. Not all ships have to be the same.

The ship's I've been on, that did have the jumbo screens, showed CNN all morning, then various scenes of the world's scenery, or things like windsurfing, set to music through the day. They also used them for poo-side trivia games. Evenings they would show movies or taped musical concerts.

And indeed, for sports events such as Super Bowl, or big college games they'll use them as well.

When I cruise I don't watch much TV sports or otherwise. All the entertainment I need is contained within my DW. I guess if I had nothing else to do on a cruise I'd probably watch TV too.

I would not mind watching a world cup game on a giant screen on a cruise ship. 8)

I have a good tv at home, for the next world cup I'm taking time off from work so I can watch as many games as possible.
