Default cabin selection on mariner of the seas....

I am considering switching my reservations on the mariner for my family of 4 to cabin #8214 which is a "large oceanview stateroom" 211 sq ft, in front of the ship. Deck 8.

Nervous, as I'v heard the "front of the ship may be very rocky.....
has anyone ever had this cabin before????
Was it of good size and comfortable ????
Thanks !!

I had one of these booked once and like the isze but changed to a balcony instead. Don't worry about the rocky. Where are you switching from? Some of these are forward facing and a couple of them are on the side all the way forward. Which is it? The forward facing ones have a sloping forward bulkhead.

8) daves right get a balcony,I was in 8560,navigator,last month and it was nice, also on these huge ships, movment is very slight, but a window room up front with four people is not the best choice, only because I had friends in a front window room on the carnival liberty, two years ago,and that sucked, differant ship, type, though.next month dave im doing that 4 days on the navigator, for only 420,pp,d-2,yea,I know some got cheaper ,but,I aint complaining,Im gonna do the belly flop and post pics, greg

Thanks for the reply guys...its room 8214 I beleive it's on the side of deck 8 at the bow of the ship. It's better I think than the Standard Interior cabin that we currently have booked ( with 4 people and all) My husband myself and my 11 and 8 yr olds.....I just wanted to be certain that the rocking thing wouldnt be a problemo. We have cruised 4 times before but all over 10 years ago- the last ship was the Zenith onboard of celebrity line. W'v never had even a window, so really we dont know any different. We would be thrilled to even have some daylight !! Just wanted to make sure before I submit the final cabin selection that severe movement wouldn't be an issue.....thats all.

Go for it! Great cabin. I have cruised inside, outside and balcony and with little kids preferred inside or oceanview so they couldn't fall overboard. The extra room will be nice. The motion of the ocean should not be a problem unless you want it to be. It's not like you are cruising the north Atlantic in the winter.
