Has anyone done the canopy tour on the zip lines. My 25 year old son wants to do it and maybe my 18 year old daughter. Is is safe? There is one is San Juan and one in St. Martin. Any one better than the other? Thanks
I've done the one in Jamaica, so I have nothing else to compare to, but another couple had done one before and said the one in Jamaica was excellent. Its also safe, you are ALWAYS clipped in. Its a lot of fun!
I was on this a few years ago. Lot of fun! Part of the excursion involved various rope bridges from tree to tree. You're going to sweat a lot on this because of the humidity and slight exertion. One note of caution--you have to remember to always keep at least one safety line clipped to a cable when on a rope bridge and when climbing around the trees to get to the next zip line. They keep a pretty close eye on you and will remind you if you forget.
We did the canopy tour in Jamaica (my husband is 51, I'm 49, our daughter is 19 and our son 17) and it was our favorite part of the entire trip. Not for anyone with a bad fear of heights, but we found it exhilarating, especially the last zipline, 1000 feet long over a river. The guides were a lot of fun (No worries, mon!), but also very safety conscious, making sure we were always clipped on, and the equipment seemed to be new and well maintained. We'd do it again in a heartbeat. Have fun!
We are going to Jamaica in a couple of weeks and doing the canopy adventure. We are really excited but my husband has been excerising alot to loose weight and he's lost 18 pounds. He is still over the weight limit by 12 pounds. DO they weight you? He could probably still get down 2 more pounds but 12 more in two weeks is to much. Does anyone have any advice?
