I personally would never book a excursion provided by the cruise ship ahead of the cruise. We always book our excursions once we board the ship. This is the reason: We got on Rhapsody last fall at the very last minute. The ship was full and we were on standby. We got a call from RC on Saturday afternoon saying an oceanview had become available. We took it and sailed out the next day. When we arrived in our cabin there were 2 great prepaid excursion tickets paid for by the couple who had to cancel. We went directly to the pursers office with the tickets to turn them in so the couple could get a refund. We were told to either use the tickets ourselves or give them to someone as the prepaid excursions were not refundable! We had a great time on two excursions we didn't have to pay for and saved over $300! I really felt sorry for the couple who had to cancel and still pay for the excursions. Hope this helps! Jeani
