water question
Hi guys....Okay, we are flying into Ft. Lauderdale then to the dock for the Navigator of the Seas in Feb..to Cozumel/Belize...around 10ish AM. We assume we would take a taxi to the dock...
Question is....is there anywhere from the airport or outside of airport that sells a case of water bottles? Would think...be a big business..somewhere nearby if not at the airport. Any advices would be great.. Thanks MJ |
I cannot answer your question on where to purchase bottled water, but.....the ship's water is perfectly fine to drink. I have a very sensitive stomach and have never had any trouble with the ship's water. They process their own water onboard and it is just as good, if not better, than bottled water. And you don't have to worry about lugging it onboard with you.

Thanks....we just happen to mentioned it to doc yesterday...he said..don't drink water off the boat or anywhere in Mexico..best bet is to drink beer..as most drink/coke are served with ice
Very possible he meant OUTSIDE off the ship. Did you drink tab water on the boat too, is that okay...I did last time..when we did Bahamas thru carnival < triumph > Kept filling my first water bottle.. Thanks MJ |
He meant off the ship. Water onboard is probably safer than your bottled water.

water
There is a grocery store, Publix (I think) on 17th street which is 5 minutes away from the dock.

The water on the ship is desalinized in evaporators on the ship and if any is brought aboard in ports at all it is very carefully treated in the ships water treatment plant. It is perfectly safe. Not a problem.

I have never had any problems drinking the water on ship. I drink alot of water and ton of ice tea while on board...

Water is fine on the Navigator, and by the way I believe all the water on Cozumel is also RO or distilled. By the way I will be on the 2/25 trip.

Hubby says the water on the ships is better than any water he ever drinks. He drinks lots more when on a cruise than normal.
This is just an FYI........ I was also told that the water in Cozumel was OK and got a coke with ice at a rest. in the afternoon. There were 4 of us and we all got exactly the same thing to eat except they got Corona's. Well, let me tell you, I was at dinner in the dining room and it hit!!!! Bathroom duty for me for the next 24 hours.... It had to be the ice!!!!!!!! I was sick for 5 days......... never again. no ice/water or anything related. Just an FYI............ |
What a shame that the nation of Mexico cannot produce drinkable water!! Unbelievable really but quite true.
It's a nation blessed with lots of natural resources and millions of delightful, hardworking people, but cursed by corrupt and inefficient government. Little wonder than millions of them seek a better life here! I had a friend who almost died from Amoebic dysentery he got In Mexico City. He was in a hospital on IV drip for 2.5 weeks. Took him more than a year to fully recover. So it can be much more serious than mere "Montezuma's revenge." When in Mexico, I never drink anything but beer, and I eat no salads. |
