Default Rookie Dress Code Question

I have a question that I have been unable tofind the answer to on any of the posts that I have read so far. In the dining room, are women allowed to wear dress capri pants? I am a rookie cruiser and am totally clueless as to what is acceptable.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hello, In my opinion, I think you can dress up capri's and pants for the dining room. I have only sailed on Carnival and I know you are going RCCL, but I have worn dress pants with a dressy top and felt totally comfortable. Some people may feel that dresses or skirts should be worn on formal nights but I think that with jewelry and the right shoes with a dressy top would totally work with dressy pants or dressy capri's. So if anyone reads this post and knows that RCCL is more strict on the dress code, please let me know as well! Thanks! Oh, and have a great time on your first cruise!!!!!

Thank you for the reply. I do have a formal for the Formal night but I was wondering for the other nights if the capris were acceptable.

Thanks!!

Yes they are perfectly acceptable (probably even on formal nights). I don't even think they enforce any rules. On the Radiance on formal night, some guy at the next table wore coveralls ! He looked like he just worked on a transmission !

Everyone says that I should pack a carry-on bag but I am not sure what to pack in it? I am told it will take a while for my luggage to get to the room. True??

I am also a little intimidated by the excursions.. not sure which ones to book...

I carry a carry on with my essentials, docs, cameras, suntan products, ect.... I arrive in my swimsuit and flipflops and ready for the pool when I cruise. I am usually at the pool bar at noon and in the pool right after.

Your cabin should be available by 1PM and luggage arrive late afternoon.

No competition DTW!
Shes a little out of my league,we'll say the blushing is from your comment = ]!
As for how long it takes for your luggage to arrive,it can vary!On my last cruise our luggage was at our room almost before we were there! But just to be on the safe side I would definitely bring all the essentials in your carry-on (swimsuit, dinner clothes, tanning oil,Docs, toothbrush, and of course the famous straightener or curling iron)!

IndyCruzer,

My daughter wore black dressy capris with a pretty sparkly black top on our cruise last year and looked great.

I wear capris to eat in the dining room on most nights. I have seen many, many others wearing them, also. No problem.

Have a wonderful cruise, and tell us about it when you get home.
