Default Liberty

Hello All,

I've cancelled my cruise with Holland America and am considering going on Liberty on 25 Oct. Does anyone know of any reason why I shouldn't?

I cancelled my HAL cruise because it had been taken over by a group (aquafest) and I felt it was not the place to be for my 14yrs old son. Are there any surprises on this cruise (Liberty) before I book?

I think it's a bit early to say, but if there is a change you will hear it long in advance. (still 8 months to go, and usually those groups charter the ship long in advance )
I think it's a good choice to go on the Liberty OTS

Don't know if you have seen it, but on your HAL post about cancelling the cruise, I posted the different cruises available in that particular week and the Liberty was one of them

Your 14yr. old is going to enjoy the Liberty of the Seas 100 times more than a Holland America ship. There is no doubt !

Liberty is full of activities for kids. I think Liberty a much better choice for kids than any HAL ship.

I can't think of one reason not to. Your 14 year old son will love this shop, you'll never see him.

I would check with RCCL and your TA for any "surprises" on Liberty for that week.

You and your son will love the liberty and will be greatful to the "aquafest group" for booking HAL which made you cancel and book Liberty! 8)

WOW!
All positive stuff. Gfleo I tried to PM you to thank you but it didn't work! So thanks!
I think I'll take the chance!! as I don't really have an option as my flights are fixed and paid for. So Liberty it is then!

I have sailed RCCL before on Voyager last year in the med so I'm on my way to Platinum!

Thanks

That seems like a kid friendly event. I thought you meant it was like a Swingers group or some sexually disorientation or something.

You will like Liberty better anyway and so will he.

Now that makes more sense I wouldn't take my kids on that cruise either....or myself for that matter. Good job catching that before it was too late! The group aside, there is much more for him to do on the Liberty, but you have been on Voyager so you know that.

Good thing you cancelled.

Dave, they feature a gay olympics and a sporting fest. You will most likely see some competitors in their speedos at this event. You mention that you have been on 17 cruises. My cruise next month on the Destiny will be my 18th also. Bob

Dave, will send you the "pic of the day" like I did with my pics from the AOS cruise last September. My first Carnival cruise in a couple of years. Usually do RCCL but a group of friends talked me into doing this one. I am sure it will not compare to my cruises on RCCL. Bob

Hey Dannysdad. I had 2 cruises booked for October. for I couldn't make up my mind.

We cancelled our Carnival reservation and it's Liberty of the Seas full steam ahead on Oct 25th for us. Though our grown sons are not coming with us, the Liberty is raved about for kids of all ages; especially teens. We've had friends who;ve sailed with their teens on the Liberty and they had a blast. We're actually treating ourselves to the 10/25 cruise as the empty nest gift to ourselves ( both kids officially away at college).

Do not wait much longer to make your reservations, for the better cabins are being gobbled up for the 10/25 Liberty of the Seas cruise.

As of last night directly at Royalcaribbean.com they had a great deal on the D2 superior oceanview balcony rooms; only $899 per person. Do not delay Plus they were giving a $100 onship credit to be used when you board. That $100 is half my spa treatment already paid for

Hi Elfster,

I've booked tonight for Liberty on 25th Oct.

I used an agent in the US called Americandiscountedcruises.com and have Free Gratuities and $100 onboard credit.

We booked HAL with this agent and it all went a bit pear-shaped (uk term for a mess!!) but now we have had some great correspondance from them and all is good!

We have an E1 cabin..............No idea what the difference is! But it is on deck seven, port side midship.

A little about us......I am 48yrs my wife 46yrs and our wonderful son 14. We live in Lancashire UK

The Caribbean is new to us as a family, so any tips for our ports would be appreciated.

Where would you stay as a family in Miami, without a car, to be close to restaurants etc? OH! Yes a Walmart too (very sad !!)!! We will be in Miami for a few days before we sail.

Also, I do like a drink so if you want to arrange for a cocktail, beer etc please do PM me.

Regards

Mark, Marie & Daniel

Dannysdad, I’ve provided the following urls that will show you the ship and your room better.

http://www.cruisemates.com/articles/...rci/legend.cfm

The most detailed and accurate depiction I’ve found yet about the Liberty of the Seas. The author did a great job. Make sure you click on the photos and video in the article for it shows the ship and it’s activities well too.

E1 is a Deluxe Ocean view stateroom with balcony; 177 square foot room, and a 74 square foot balcony. You have a nice room on a great level. And, guess what??? We’re on seven too in a D2 stateroom.

I just joined the cruise message forums and haven’t done a profile yet, to include ICQ or private message. But, I will within the next few days, so we can chat about the cruise

I will be 47 years old on the cruise, my BD is the 26th. And, my husband is 49. We will be married 21 years on the departure date 10/25……so we’re extremely excited about this cruise in many ways. As, I know your wife and son must be too.

I live in SW Florida on the Gulf, so I know very little about Miami except the airport. But, will ask around for you with some of my co-workers that know Miami well.

8 months, 2 days, and eagerly counting down until departure

ROFLMAO....I saw the first link Dannysdad posted by accident and thought it looked like good, clean kid fun too. Then when Dannysdad posted the correct link I nearly fell over.........mama mia...... I'd cancel my reservation in a heart beat too

Hey Elfster,

We stayed in SW Florida in 2005 in a place called Cape Coral. We've also stayed at Rotunda West and New Port Richey (twice) along the Gulf Coast.

We also have friends in Naples.
