Default The ride to El Yunque in PR

Does anyone know how long it takes to get to El Yunque rainforest from the port in San Juan P R?

If I remember correctly, about an hour or there abouts. It is a nice ride thru SJ and then into the mountains up to the rain forest.

Aftre checking with my sources (DW) the ride is more like 2 hours, but still worth it.

Thanks seadog2,

We will only have 5 hours in P R. Looks like we will skip the rainforest this time. Have been to P R before and toured San Juan and some of the forts. Does anyone have any other suggestions on things to do in PR?

Hello,
I just went to the rainforest in PR last week on EOS, it is really beautiful worth the trip. The ride takes about 45min to an hour each way depending on traffic. It is a nice scenic ride. Enjoy

Thanks JoyRN,

How much time did you get to spend in the rainforest? Is there much walking involved? My parents will be joining us and they do not get around as well as they used to. I don't want to over burden them with too much physical activity.

Default Rainforest

Hello,
The walking part is not too bad. First the bus brings you to a look out with a tower. There are 92 steps to reach the top, the view is worth it, you can see for miles and out to the atlantic ocean. You have a 360 degree view. Then back on to the bus for a few minutes up the mountain and then you are let back out and do the self guided tour of the Rainforest. The path goes up for about 5-10 minutes and then the rest is downhill. The path is cement. You can rest along the way. After joining your group at the end, back on to the bus to stop at a waterfall-very pretty, bring your cameras. Have fun.

Default Explorer of the Seas

I just went on the 12 night southern Caribbean on EOS out of new york on Feb 3,2008. I have been on EOS twice before. It really is a beautiful ship-I am partial to the voyager class. They are my favorite. I have also been on Navigator and Mariner. This was the longest cruise I have taken so far, usually I only do 7 nights. I thought this was most fun I have had on a cruise so far, and this was my 12th cruise! I loved being on the ship for 12 nights. We had 4 sea days(which I loved) and we visited 7 islands(all great). If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them if I can. Feel free to e-mail me direct if you want to.
