Default Can't decide about Liberty of the Seas.......help!

Looking for some advice and input. We’ve booked on the Carnival Miracle (Western Caribbean) and also the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas (Southern Caribbean) for this October and can’t decide between the two. It’ll be the first vacation without our kids. And, the DH and I looking to celebrate our empty nest (both kids away at college) Destination is of no real importance to us, just having fun and some R&R on the ship.

We’re loving the newness of the Liberty along with the state of the art attractions on board; ice rink, climbing wall, wave surfing, etc. And, the balcony accommodations are larger in room size and also balcony size in comparison to Carnival Miracle.

But, we’re skeptical of the passenger size of the Liberty nearly 2,000 more passengers than Carnival Miracle. Does it size make lines more difficult; on the ship as well as boarding and embarking? Does the much larger size impact the food quality and service?

Any input and suggestions from folks that are familiar with both lines and ships would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks ahead of time, elfster

I myself am during Liberty. There are alot of passengers on the ship however it really does not feel like there are that many people onboard.

Have fun whichever you choose! 8)

Thanks for your reply. I think we've decided on Liberty of the Seas vs Miracle. Though the ship is so much bigger than Miracle, I'm finding it a plus.....more to do.

I'm paying more for Liberty of the Seas vs Carnival Miracle. But, I think it's worth it.

When are you sailing on Liberty of the Seas? We're leaving 10/25.

Happy sailings, elfster

I'm cruising in June on Liberty. And yes my rate is more than Carnival and Princess which were the other two lines I was thinking about. I enjoy the big mega ships.

The mega ships of RCCL are mind boggling. I have mentioned many times that on the Freedom OTS cruise last June there was 4000 on board including almost one thousand kids. There was never - NEVER - a feeling of over crowding, no long lines, an all adult swim area (check out the cantilevered jacuzzis !). There is so much to do and see you may not want to leave the ship.

Hi Yeoman, I appreciate your feedback and input. I read your statement on different topic thread here on the Royal Caribbean boards, which also helped us make the final decision...we're doing Liberty of the Seas. It's official for I just cancelled the Miracle.

Bumped into a co-worker today that did the Liberty Western Caribbean, which also helped us make up our minds. She raved of the ship. And, she's a fussy gal that is hard to please when it comes to service and food

Woooo-hooooo the DH and I are psched. 8 months, 2 days and counting until 10/25 departure

It can't come fast enough

My wife, daughter and I went on the Miracle in 06. Personally the Miracle was the least favorite of our Carnival ships. I prefered the Destiny and Victory over it. Nothing bad about the Miracle, just liked the others better. I think the decor was ugly and the staff didn't seem as friendly as my other Carnival cruises. My wife and I are trying Royal for the first time this May on the Liberty OTS. We can't wait.

I know we've made the right choice. And, I'm soooooo psyched. October 25th can't come fast enough.

Keep us posted and updated as to how your trip aboard the Liberty OTS this coming May. I wish you a safe and fun filled voyage
