Default wine card?

Hello fellowcruisers,

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a wine card (they have a soft drink card you can purchase for your children, right)?

It would be so much cheaper to purchase something like that instead of ordering wine per glass!

Everyone's help is always greatly appreciated.

Not a wine card, but they do have wine packages in the dining room.

Once onboard, they usually have a table set up, with wines, and someone there to advise you, of what is available to you, as far as packages. I drink Berringers white zin, and it's usually about $22.00 a bottle [what a sin.] I think the next time I will take my own advice and check out the packages..

Default Wine card?

Hello fellowcruisers,

Thank you all for replying to my query.

My husband and I do not dine in the main dining room, but prefer to dine at the Windjammer instead, so as to ordering wine packages in the dining room - that is not feasible.

We will however, check out the table set up with wines and inquire about that. Thank you.

If any other suggestions are forthcoming, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

You can purchase the wine packages Silver, Gold & Platinum and use them in any of the restaurants, including Windjammer and Portifino's.

They place a sticker on your seapass card which you submit everytime you order a bottle.

I chose the Gold package and it was more than adequate.

7 bottles $192.76 on Voyager in 2007.

You can also get the wine card and take wine to your room - go to any bar, get a bottle, and take it back to your room with glasses. No problem.

Hello Clydegirl,

On the Gold package I chose there was a choice of approx 6 whites and 6 reds and 3/4 Rose (blush).

The standard was quite good, but I only drink red I'm afraid. When you board there will be an area possibly outside Windjammers, where there will be a table with the wine choices at each package, Silver, Gold, Platinum.

As a UK resident like myself, the standards to expect are as you would if buying from a supermarket.

Silver £3-4 ($6-8)
Gold £5-6 ($10-12)
Platinum £7-10 ($14-20)

Gold was $193 inc tax & gratuity. (gratuity on all alcohol) last August for 7 bottles.

There is also a soft drinks card for $34 for as many coke as you can drink! Ideal for the kids.

There is no wine card. RCI had what they call Wine and Dine. Read about it here ....

http://www.royalcaribbean.com/giftca...catCode=WINDIN

Discovering new wines is fun and romantic. With Royal Caribbean's Diamond, Platinum or Gold Wine & Dine packages, you can purchase wines from our special selection and save up to 25% off regular wine list prices. Once onboard, proceed to the Wine & Dine station to confirm your pre-order and finalize your wine selection. You will receive a Wine & Dine sticker for your SeaPass card. Simply present this sticker to the waiter during your dining experience to receive one of the wines from your selection.

Although our Wine & Dine Packages are not available for three (3) and four (4) night sailings, a wonderful selection of wines from around the world are always available onboard.

................. Read the link for the rest of it.

Default Wine card?

Hello fellowcruisers,

Thank you all for your help on the above subject matter.

I checked into this wine and dine on the various packages offered! On one of the packages, it says 7 bottles of wine! (he drinks red and I like white). I spoke to my husband, and there is no way he can down 7 bottles of wine in 8-nights. Again, thank you all for your assistance, which is always greatly appreciated.

I am reading this correctly, right?

Default Wine

You don't have to take all white or all red.

My wife and I are into wine have found that the Diamond Package works for us. However, the wine selection is not that great and you end up paying $28-33.00 for an $8.00 bottle of wine. But, that just cruising... 8)

Default wine card?

Hello fellowcruisers,

Is there a corkage and gratuity fee every time you ask the waiter, etc. to open the bottle of wine you purchased?

The gratuity is included in the wine package. No corkage as you are not bringing your own wine.
