Default San Juan Arrivals

Just have a question. If your flight gets into SJU at 3:00 in the afternoon will you make it to the ship before it is time to sail? Do you strongley suggest to fly in the day before and what hotels would you use? Thanks in advance.

Most of the ships leave SJU around 10:00, so that flight would work, but if ever you can fly in a day early, always bettter.

I too am leaving from san juan port in November, I am coming in the day before to do the rainforest and then doing old san juan the day we return, just picking a later flight home and figuring out what to do with luggage. My ship departs at 8:30 pm, this is my first cruise, but I would think a 3:00 flight would be fine!

it all depends upon what time you sail, if you can fly in the day before definately do it. San Juan airport is a total zoo, it just gets flooded with cruise passengers doing the same thing you are.

DEFINITELY GET THE VALET LUGGAGE SERVICE. PUT OUT YOUR BAGS NIGHT BEFORE ,YOU MUST GO THROUGH CUSTOMS{GET A BAGGAGE ASSISTANT} CHECK THEM IN AT YOUR AIRLINE COUNTER AND YOU DON'T SEE YOUR LUGGAGE UNTIL YOUR FINAL DESTINATION.WE DID A LAST DAY TOUR IN SAN JUAN.WE GOT OFF THE SHIP FIRST,TOOK CARE OF THE LUGGAGE,THEN WENT ON OUR TOUR.FROM THERE WE WENT TO THE AIRPORTFOR A 6:00 pm FLIGHT AND DIDN'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH LUGGAGE.

Hello Fellowcruisers,

When we went out of Ft. Lauderdale in March 2008, we always fly in a day before.

The cruise left on schedule from Ft. Lauderdale, and when we arrived in San Juan, we noticed quite a few people waiting to board the ship. It turns out that they missed the cruise (at least 70 people) because of the bad weather! So, it really pays to fly in the day before and make sure you have travel insurance as well so you can be compensated in case your flights are cancelled, etc.
