Default Cruise documents?

I'm 61 days away-- can anyone tell me when to expect cruise documents?? Are they mailed or is it an online and print thing?
Thanks in advance

sign in online, fill out the documents yourself, takes less than 5 minutes and print them out... one for each passenger. Have fun!

if you have a travel agent, im sure she/he will do that for you.. I never use an agent though, i book everything myself, just easier for me.

nope, it should only be one piece (for each person) of paper with your info, flight info, cabin number, the credit card info you will use onboard , etc... you bring that to the check bagage counter and then to check in counter and your all set to board. Just makes boarding quicker.

yeah, there are more documents. you can get them in the mail or "e-docs" - a PDF file. if you go to your cruise dashboard, you will be able to see this setting. They should come before your cruise. It used to be that they'd send them out a month before the cruise, i think. but, i hear now it's like 2 weeks. i always ask for the mailed documents because i'm type a and i want my luggage tags in the mail so i can put them on my luggage early. the travel docs that you're lacking have those tags in them and details about the excursions, etc.....

Ive never gotten these documents... Especially in the mail. The only other documents I have printed were rules and policys, etc.. And yes of course shore excursion info, but thats the obvious. They put luggage tags on when you get there, just like the airport. Im not sure what other documents there are? Guess I didnt need them anyway lol

animal rights......you have to specifically reqest the "by mail" cruise docs to get the tags in the mail. Otherwise, you will get the tags at the port. If you request the cruise docs by snail mail, you get an actual book in the mail with an itenerary, info about the excursions, C&A numbers, policies, etc.....It's like a hand held guide to the cruise. I don't think RCCL likes to give these out freely anymore because it's costs them money to print when you could print them at home. I however, still enjoy them. I think the default method of cruise docs is the "e-docs" now which requires you to print the pdf file at home. You were referring earlier to the "set sail pass" which is different.
Royal used to always send the cruise docs out by snail mail about 4 years ago or so, but have stopped recently.

Default Cruise Docs

We received our cruise docs in the mail the 3rd week of February for our sailing on March 22. I do not specifically remember asking them to be mailed. The package included the luggage tags, Bahamas Imigration
Form, the contract and excursion information printed in booklet form and a general information book.

They usually come out a month in advnace of your cruise. I have never NOT gotten them. I cruised two weeks ago and am going again in two weeks and have them both. Ask your TA for them or call RCI if you don't get them about 30 days out.

They contain alot of good information, the excursions list applicable to your cruise and some stuff to fill out and your luggage tags. You still need to go online and print out your set sail pass.

Here they are. I save all of mine.

Default Cruise Docs

I think the determining factor is how far in advance you book your cruise. My cruise on March 22 was booked back in October. I cruised on Liberty of the Sea last August and did not book until the end of June. The docs for this cruise were electronic.

On average I book no more than 2 months in advance, I guess my vacationing is border line spur of the moment . =) However, I am actually planning one for October, but its expensive, so I need to save the $$$ ... which I probably will book 2 months before as well!!! lol The price usually goes down towards the last few months though which is great!

I went on an 11 night caribbean over Christmas- 12 days for ONLY $599 per person!! WOW! it might as well been freeee lol You cannot beat that! I actually stalked the pricing, I watched it daily... it dropped little by little, finally when I knew there were just a few rooms left- I booked it!!!

so, i think i may have an answer for a few of the comments. I'm not a TA, but here's my theory......

I've been on 5 rccl cruises, and i book them all on the phone with royal or online. I always select to get my travel docs in the mail when i go online under preferences. when i went to that section online with my current booking, my past preference was still there (snail mail). If your past preference, albeit unknown, was "e-docs" .....as could be the case for animal rights.......that would the default setting for all future bookings unless you change it. for someone like dave the wave, who has always got paper docs and has been on a bajillion cruises, he will always get mailed docs unless he changes his preferences. So, animal rights, next cruise, make sure you go online when you book and change the preference to "by mail" because some people pefer to do the e-doc thing.

Most doc's are e-doc's now. You will be able to print them off of RCL's web site. Some times they are not available until 45 - 30 days prior to the cruise. A lot of the time you will receive an email saying your doc's are ready to print.

Animal Rights: do you check the RCI website for prices? I've never done
this before...I always book w/ a TA...but some people say prices may
drop between booking and date of cruise. This time I'm going to
check.
