Default New RCI Policy on water and sodas?

We are sailing EOS out of Cape Liberty Port on April 11th. I just called customer service to ask some last minute questions. One of my questions was if I could bring a little soda and some water bottles with me. Her answer was that RCI always used to allow that, no problem, but that just recently their insurance carrier has told them not to allow any water or soda any longer, so she said it would be taken from me. We had intended to put a luggage tag on a case of water bottles, and to bring 2 six packs of soda. Will we really have a problem if we try that? Has anyone sailed out of Cape Liberty in the last month and had any problems? I can only drink diet, caffeine free coke for soda, so I asked her if they sold that on the ship and she said she didn't know. She told me to call special services to find out. Does anyone know if you can get caffeine-free, diet coke on EOS?

Never heard of such a thing -- and what would it have to do with insurance? Not saying you are wrong, but I'd be darned if I wouldn't smuggle it -- I never have smuggled liquor, but water and pop?????

It is likely due to the bottles or cans rupturing and causing damage in the luggage compartment (soaking other people's luggage)

I have to have my Arizona Tea Rx stress, my favorite thirst quencher, so I will be packing a 12 pack, well packaged and padded in a seperate piece of luggage.
