Default Looks like the price of our cruise went UP

I've seen the prices go down on Carnival as the departure date got closer.
I don't think I've ever seen the price go up especially this far away from the sailing date!

We booked Freedom for November 16 catagory N total price for 2 $1387.88
I wanted to see how much an upgrade to a promenade cabin would be.
I was astonished to find that OUR catagory N would now cost $1567.88
That's a rise of $90 per person!!!! WOW ! ! ! !

Now the children and ourselves are thankful we already booked.
Too bad the in laws have waited to book... that's gonna cost them!

That is an excellent rate you have for November on the Feedom!!!

But keep checking it might go down!!!

I just checked my cruise for June late last nite and it did go down by $200.00! My TA is calling RCCL she will be getting back to me shortly!

Now you understand the advantages of booking early. The prices have not been going down for quite some time. It doesn't hurt to keep checking but with the prices of food, drinks, fuel ...... I don't see any reductions coming any time soon. The cruise I'm on in Oct has gone up almost $200 pp and I booked it in Dec. '07. As our economy declines, prices will rise!

I was booked on a repositioning out of Boston, which I booked at, a bit over a $1000.00 pp. I needed to cancel, but I know now, the cruise is almost $2,000.00 pp, for the catagory we had booked...Now that's a wow!

That's amazing! Mind boggling!
I never heard of anything like that with Carnival.

Rb, yes, that's the cruise, which is always extremely popular, but this kind of increase just boggles my mind:(:(

We booked 6 months ago with out TA. We paid $1279.00 a person and now it is $1179.00 a person. My sister in law and her family are going to wait till the last moment to book. I like the fact that mine is already paid for and I know what cabin I will be getting a head of time.

Okay - let me get this straight - you book a cruise at a certain amount - pay down payment and then wait - you happen to see (where do you go for this info) that your cruise has dropped in price. Can you go to your travel agent to get a reduction on price? Is this what you do? And where exactly do you go to see if your cruise drops in price. I have been getting my last cruises through her by just calling her. I have been doing all the work actually. Thanks

Deb, either plug your cruise info into any site to see if the rates are lower, or give your agent a call periodically to check the rates. Good luck!
