Default Bringing Soda Onboard

Does anyone know (from recent experience) if RCCL allows you to bring a couple of cans or bottles of soda onboard? On the phone, they say 'no' -- you cannot bring any soda or water (with the possible exception of one bottle of water that you have with you on your travel/board date -- really, that's what they said on the phone today). I know they don't want you to bring an entire cooler filled with soda and water -- but now they won't allow a 6-pack or a couple of bottles? I'm not talking liquor here -- they specifically said NO SODA. They said (on the phone today) it is not spelled out as such on their website nor documents, but it is their policy and their policy will prevail. Anyone recently taken soda and had it inspected at boarding and still allowed to bring onboard? Just wondering.

I see lots of posts (and have friends that do it) who take entire cases - they use packing tape to hold them together - and slap a luggage tag on it - tip the porter well - and it will be delivered with your bags. RCCL has tight policies on a lot - but they turn a blind eye to a lot too.

Others have said they packed soda in there checked and it came through OK. I think they are more concerned about alcohol.

My dw and I went to alaska a couple of years ago and we had our travel agent ask rccl about bringing soda on board. we are pepsi drinkers and Rccl serves coke, the agent asked the question and they said because they did not sell pepsi we coudle bring a few plastic bottles on board. plastic bottles being the key item. so its depends on what you drink.

I read a lot of different opinions on here about bringing soda or water. Some said you can others you can't I'll just bring a few cans of soda and if they take them so be it.
