We just booked a hump cabin on the Independence OS. Looking at the deck diagram we are the cabin right off the elevator and stairs. Anyone have experience with this location on other RCI ships? Noise? Thanks for any info.

We had a hump cabin on Celebrity which was next to the elevator. Only bad thing was folks in the elevator could see onto our balcony. There was no noise to bother us and we had great views.
If we can't get our cabins facing aft, we go for the hump. We have had a couple that heard more talking etc. outside the door due to the stairs/elevator area but not a dealbreaker. I think the view and uniqueness make most of the hump cabins very desirable. Just my 2 pennies, Robbie
Thank you my fellow Cruisemates for all your positive comments. We didn't think it would be a problem but knew others with experience could help.
Dannysdad, look on the deck plan for RCI ships. They have the middle cabins by the elevators that extend side the ship hence a hump. My DH likes to be able to look down on the ocean and not on another deck or overhang. Our next cruise will be our first experience with one.

They sound like a great cabin! I'll look out for them next time. This time we are mid-ships, port side, deck 7, on Liberty, with a balcony..........can't wait!

Just got back from 9 day cruise on Explorer and had JS hump stateroom. The location was great, as it was a very short walk from the elevator. No noticiable increase in noise or other disturbances due to close proximity. Loved the location!
