Default Picky about my coffee

I have a question for you frequent cruisers on RCI's Grandeur-- Have you found the coffee is exactly the same taste/quality in the Windjammer as it is in the Great Gatsby restaurant?

What about room service coffee? Never tried that. Is room service breakfast slow?

I know I can pay extra for the Seattles Best but would prefer not to.

I believe they use Seattles Best in all the restaurants/buffets on Royal Caribbean...Any specialty type coffee would be extra.

As for room service, excellent. YOu can fill out a ticket and place on your door the evening before you want room service for breakfast. They will call on the phone just before it gets brought up to your cabin, great wake-up call. Also good to do when you have an early excursion.

I had posed a question previously about the coffee and no one had responded. I don't know what kind of coffee it is that RCCI served, but I found it to be very bitter and undrinkable.

I'm a coffee drinker, and I could drink the coffee, just add a good amount of cream and it least they do have real half/half..

Tip: For bitter coffee add a pitch of salt. It will neutralize the acids that can cause belly aches later and remove most of the bitterness.

It has been many years since I visited Europe, but if my taste memory is correct, RCI coffee tastes pretty much like European coffee. Give me a couple of sips and I can adjust to anything, as long as it contains caffeine. Variety is the spice of life [and I need some variety in my metaphors];-)

I was telling a friend of mine just yesterday, that the ONLY thing that I hate on all cruise ships is the coffee. I think on my next cruise I will try diluting it somewhat with water. The coffee is never good on any of the cruise ships, in my opinion. Certainly will not stop me from cruising. I will put up with and find a way to drink the coffeel Small problem and small price to pay .

Yuck. The coffee in the Windjammer is AWFUL!!! I have to add about 10 packets of sugar just to make it a little bearable!!

Although, they have Seatles Best in the Centrum and the flavored coffee is usually alot better... after you fix it up a bit!

On our last cruise we were facinated to watch, not one but two separate passengers who came to the Lido first thing in the morning with thermal press coffee pots. They proceeded to make their own, one revealing that they had brought along Star Bucks coffee. If ship coffee does not improve soon, we might do likewise.

One thing I'm happy about when the cruise is over is going back home to great morning coffee!

On Mariner they served Seattles Best. I Like strong coffee and found it just that-- real strong but the machine has a hot water port also for tea, you can fill your cup 3/4 with coffee and then the rest with the hot water to "mellow" out the coffee. It worked great!!
