Default Wonder how that will work...?

Don't trees, flowers, shrubs, etc typically rely on insect and bees of all sorts to survive? Or at least to pollinate? I am just a dumb accountant, but how would that happen way out in the ocean? Or would they bring the bugs on board with them??

Impressive engineering but I like to feel in tune with the sea when I am at sea. All of this seems to take you away from the feeling of being at sea.

I'm thinking are the interior Balcony rooms facing Central Park going to be popular with Cruisers? Hmmm...a balcony facing Central park or a balcony facing the water????

I wonder which will cost more If I want to go to Central Park, I will go to Central Park. If I want a mall setting (which I don't ) I will go to the mall. I cruise to be at sea and to see the sea. Show me the pool areas! 8)

Some people call the Promenade on the Voyager and Freedom class ships a mall.

A couple of bars, a general store, perfume shop etc. I don't call a mall. When I think mall I think at least 2 big department stores and a food court!

Cruisers do like the Promenade rooms. Why not book a cabin with a window viewing the water versus a cabin with a view of the Promenade.

Unless some folks don't care about the view of the water and rather have a people watching view!

I have a feeling the Central Park Balcony rooms will be a popular choice!

Not among me they won't. I had thought originally this area would be on the back of the ship with an open view to the wake. That would be cool. 8)

I guess there will be a cabin for everyone on Genesis depending what view you want!

I'll just continue to cruise in the cheapo inside cabin!

June more info will be released on Genesis. Lazy river please!

Booking will start in August.

I just watched the video RCL put out and I think it looks fantastic, but the one thing that strikes me a little funny is the Boxing Ring. Personally AI dont go on a vacation to get smacked around.

Default Also....

...where are the pools now that the park is open air? Is the ship that much longer that there is room aft of forward of the park for all of the same pools?

That is my concern also. I would really like to see a pool area at the stern.

It will be amazing IF on the bottm level you can walk to the side of the ship for a view of the sea with a railing or if this level (deck 8) is the open promenade deck. Unlikely though as the promenade deck will likely be 4 or 5. NO, not the Royal Promenade, the traditional outside walk around promenade deck.

I think Central Park is just the begining! There will be other Amazing stuff announced from RCCL on Genesis.

That will be alot of people on one ship!

No reason you can't do both Pool time and Central Park time!

I have a feeling Central Park is going to have some fun stuff going on.

Not a ship for everyone. Many folks might not even consider it because it might be too big for their taste.

I'm on Freedom class for now I don't even want to go back to a Voyager class.

I don't mind alot of people the more the merrier! And Cruisers are all nice people anyway!

Central Park looks awesome. Hope they don't move the pool
deck from open air overlooking the sea.

Cruise Queen,

You make some valid points. Cruisers are nice and fun people. All the ones I have met anyway. I am sure there are some cranky ones too.

Although I have enjoyed the Mariner very much, if not with my kids I would be very happy on the Vision class like Enchantment and Grandeur. I would also like to cruise the Radiance class.

But with kids next year I am moving on up to the east side and going Freedom class. 8)

Yes Cranky people (Gripers) are everywhere!

The mega ships are not for everyone.

Promenade should be amazing.

Quote:
There will be a Royal Promenade bigger than any seen before
I'm wondering what the rates are going to be like????

With 2 Genesis ships 4 Freedom class ships and Voyager class and other rccl ship plus all the other cruise lines Carnival, Celebrity, Princess, NCL, etc. that is alot of cruisers they need to fill these ships.

My Liberty cruise in about 2 months still have alot of cabins available. I remember a few years ago starting January the only cabins available to book for the summer were suites everything else was booked.

Dave, if you ever get the chance, try the Serenade. I believe it is part of the Radiance class ships-very beautiful. Took it out of San Juan back in 2005, one of my favorite cruises so far. Bob

I've been looking at prices though and RCL is becoming a "premiere" price range! I looked for an Eastern Car. cruise and compared RCL, Princess, NCL and MSC. RCL was the HIGHEST price by far!
