Default Best Hotel Near Miami Cruise Port?

Going on Panama Canal 11 night cruise on Jewel of The Seas, leaving January 19, 2009. Plan on arriving in Miami on January 16th and spending the night before the cruise in a Miami Hotel. Can someone give me some good advice on a good hotel that isn't rediculously priced? I normally cruise out of NYC and Puerto Rico. First time cruising out of Miami. Thank you fellow cruisers.

Default Miami Hotel

The Holiday Inn at Bayside Market is supposed to be good. We have also stayed at the Hyatt in downtown Miami.

If you are familiar with Priceline, you can bid on a downtown hotel, and if you choose 4 stars or above, you might get a good price. About 3 years ago, we bid $35 for a 4-star, and got the Hyatt Regency. Probably can't get it for that price today, but...

The Holiday Inn Bayside is a good choice, the Holiday Inn Doral is also a good choice

We are going in July on Majesty and I booked the Holiday Inn Port of Miami for the night before. It was $143 for two double beds.

The Hyatt Regency Miami was really nice. We stayed there last year before we went on the Liberty. There was some kind of obnoxious convention there, but other than that, it was fine for a night.

Happy Sailing!
