Formal nights on mariner of the seas June 1-8 2008
I've looked everywhere in the booklet I received and on the RC website under my cruise but can't find this info.
We are celebrating my hubby's 40th and our ten year wedding anniversary that week and was wondering exactly what day(s) the formal nights were on.
Another question....when they say formal are they talking like prom night/black tie formal or just dresses and jackets for men. I have a really great formal ball dress and was wondering if this would be too much. I don't want to stand out as "the over-dressed one".
Formal nights are almost always on sea days, or days when the ship leaves a port of call earlier, like 3 or 4pm. Since RCI has 2 formal days on a 7 night cruise, and your cruise has 2 sea days, formal nights will be on those days. I'm almost positive on that.
Formal attire on RCI ships are a pretty wide range. Most women dress in nice cocktail dresses and men wear suits and ties. There are a spattering of people who really dress in black tie/tux and ball gowns, so you won't be out of place.

I decided not to wear the ball gown. Too bulky to pack. I decided to go with two lovely Indian designs that I had made for my mom back in the mid 90's while in India. They will be interesting and have tons of beads and gold trim on them. They are very special because we wore them to the ballet a few months before she passed away.
So if you see a brownish/red head 40ish woman with a purple or a maroon Indian outfit on during the formal nights, please say hi!
