hold on to your wallet ...literally. But beyond that wherever you go, you'll be shocked at prices...especially if you grab a lunch bite in France or Rome if that is your itinerary. Our dollar is worthless.
Barcelona and Rome are expensive for Europeans, let alone visitors from America!
Do be careful on Las Ramblas and be on the lookout for pick-pockets. Some of the bars along there are very expensive...............you may see people drinking VERY LARGE beers................they come at a VERY LARGE price.
The city itself is fabulous............ the cost is ridiculous...................don't get ripped off, be wary.
The cathedral is a must.................the soccer stadium (if thats your sport) is a great trip.
Don't ride faster than our Guardian Angel can fly
You can also use the Barcelona Hop-on Hop-off Bus which has three different tour routes to explore the city! See the major sights aboard an open-top double-decker bus, and with over 44 stops to choose from you can hop on and hop off all around the city. Spend as much or as little time at places of interest before jumping aboard for the next stop - the choice is yours!
Cutiecat, a friend of mine is going on this cruise also. If you want to P.M. me, I can forward you her email address. She is also on the other cruise board on the meet and mingle section. Did not know if you checked that out. Bob
We took the western med cruise from Barcelona last November. We had transfers from the airport to the cruiseship. They put us and our bags on a bus and proceded to drive us all over Barcelona on about a 4 hour tour. Not only were our bags safely stored on the bus, but we got to see most everything one would see on a paid tour.
Was this 4 hour tour something you organized separately or was it done through the cruise line? I also paid for the ground transfers from the airport to the ship; however, I was under the impression that they just drove from point a to point b.
