In the long range I think the RCCL stock will be OK.

I would say that if you hold them for a while you will be OK.

We just purchased "a round lot" of Royal Caribbean shares on Thursday; actually, we would have been better waiting until Friday because the price had gone down. Still, we got the shares for $20.62, which was still a great deal. As more of the "baby boomer" generation retires, they will travel more, and, in time, Royal Caribbean stock will go up. I had read that the perks have been extended: getting onboard credits is a great way to perk interest in buying shares of Royal Caribbean. Also, you can use your on board credit on Celebrity and Azamara Cruiselines as well.
Bob - You said you get confirmation on your perks. Who sends them and how? I never get it although I have always gotten the on board credit on the sailing itself.
Whoa - do you HAVE to be a member of Crown & Anchor to receive the shareholder benefits???? I printed a letter from RCCL about this and there
is no mention of that (C & A) being a requirement. Hope not - or my DH
will be pretty p----d at me !

Has nothing to do with the C & A You will automatically be a member after your cruise anyway.
Do you think the way the stock is declining in value that RCCL will
change the shareholder benefit or cancel them out althogether?? Would
be a lot of very unhappy cruisers!!!!!

We are doing a B2B next January - as these are technically two "separate cruises" and I have 2 booking ## - should I request my shareholder
benefit in 2 SEPARATE letters or one?? I don't want to lose out for the
sake of a slip of paper. Thanks.

To be on the safe side I would send two separate letters. You don't want someone to get confused.
Enjoy your cruises.

OK, another ??? (gosh, you folks must be getting really "sick and tired" with me! Anyway, when I tried to register my cruise conf. # on the RCCL
site - it said "can't retrieve your confirmed itinerary at this time" - is this
because my TA is holding "group space"? She gave me confirmation ##
but they don't work??? Am I doing something wrong ??

It could be that you haved a confimation # for your travel agency and one with RCCL. I booked my cruise thru a travel agency. I have a number with them so if I check with my travel agency online I use that confirmation #. If I want to check with my reservation with RCI I use the other confirmation #. Bottom line I have a confirmation # with my travel agecny then I have a booking # with RCI. Hope this makes sense; and I don't know if your travel agent has done the same for you.
Cheers

I have read on several threads that Royal Caribbean's website can go bonkers. U can check your reservation one minute than five minutes later you can't. Why not try and log on tomorrow. If you can't access your reservation call RCI directly and ask them why their website won't let you access your information. Hope this helps.
Cheers

Yeah, the RCI website is a little goofy. We have 23 cruise credits, but the website says we have 19. I've e-mailed RCI twice, and they have told me twice that the website is wrong, and I do, in fact, have 23 credits. They say they are "fixing it", but it's been this way for over 6 months.
They also recently wiped out all the "meet & mingle" registrations for one of our upcoming cruises.

I thought I was the only one. I have the same issue. On the website they don't have me down for the correct cruise credits when I called they also told me they would fix it however they did not yet.

So let me see if I get this right about shareholder benefits. I own 100 shares of stock. I plan on scanning my brokerage statement into an email. Who do I email this info to? Thanks.,

received my email confirmation a few days later.

Sherri, your TA would have been given both booking numbers as soon as she held space for you whether or not you are deposited. I do groups all the tiem with RCI and have never told a clinet I'll get back to them on teh booking number. As for the Mariner back to back, I have 4 cliensts doing all threee segements. Each client has three booking numbers. They also have all three segments cross referenced. You need to make sure your agent has you listed as back to back and ahs your segments cross referenced or you will have to go through the embarkation process afetr the first one instead of being escorted through customs by the staff and then escorted back on. Just wondering which if the three you are skipping? For all your trouble I hope you get a good deal. Prices fell again yesterday on the 1st and last segment. the #2 one remains the same. Oh and you will get $250 per segment on the Shareholder thing. You also get 2 cruise crown and anchor credits per segment.
Thanks - finally got everything straightened out with the TA - seems her agency is holding "group space" which prevented me from seeing my reservations on the RCCL site ( she also left out the "0" in my booking numbers) but all is fine, now. Of course, I think as I had to ask for some
help from one of her associates - I guess she got "called on the carpet" about it and now is not all that cordial when I have asked a few minor
questions. Now I see that I will have to get some type of itineray with our names
on her letterhead to submit for my Visa for Brazil - so she'll probably "pitch a fit" about that. Why are people like this?? I just was
following through on the advise given me from the boards and she takes
it "personal" - oh well. I'll give her a couple of more weeks to cool off.
I also just sent her four more passengers for this cruise and have I
heard any "thank you" - nope, not yet. Won't hold my breath, either. :o :o

quite frankly I am appalled. Do you have any idea how much commission she is making off of you? She should be kissing your patootie. If it were me I will take my business elsewhere. You can cancel a booking with no penalty anytime up to 70 days before this sailing. I guarantee you that you can find an agent that will give you straight answers and treat you with respect. BTW you are not getting a discount by booking in the group. Group space is at the same price as regular retail space and usually specials such as senior rates and residency rates do not apply if you are in a group so sometimes you pay more.
Hi - Thanks very much for your concern and recommendations. I researched the online sites and this TA is giving me a very generous
OBC along with the RCCL coupon books (when I get on board). I paid in full at the time of booking as the TA also gave me an addiontal % off
as I paid with my cc. (Discover/AmEx). This additonal $$ was also added
to the original OBC she is giving me. If I were to cancel now, I would
lose the cabin (same one for both legs) which I really like plus be
charged a 10% cancellation fee. I do have the travel insurance but doubt
it would cover those fees if I cancelled because of her "attitude". I also
probably wouldn't get the same type of cabin and location if I started all over again. To be honest, my life is way too hectic now to even think about doing something like this. This
being said - be ready, everyone on this trip (Mariner of the Seas - Jan 4, 2009) as I am getting your TA's names and phone ##'s. I can't say
that this TA is overcharging me for anything especially as RCCL doesn't
discount any of their cruises. Wouldn't it be nice to see some kind of
"thank you" for the additonal clients I have just sent her, though (hint:
flowers in our cabin or a spa treatment or two ).

10% cancellation fee? I don't even know if that is legal. BTW all agents got those coupon books this month. they are nothing special I have one on my desk. One of the agencies I write for gave it to me. Standard OBC on this one is $250. Good luck but I wouldn't recommend any of your friends to her. NEVER pay for any travel upfront with a cancellation fee. UGHHH this is why I became a writer and not an agent. I can at least have scruples.
Thanks to everyone who has posted info about shareholders onboard credit. I emailed RCI this morning with my brokerage statement and cruise reservation number and received a confirmation email this afternoon. Now I have eight months to wait to use my onboard credit.
Cheers
