It just has to be renewed each year at the stockholders meeting. It has always had an expiration date that was extended one year annually.

Not true. I fact just the opposite it has been extended indefinitely. in checking the shareholder FAQ I see that all mention of an expiration date has been dropped. http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix....eholderbenefit

We are taking two B2B cruises on the Mariner of the Seas in January when
she moves from FLL to Cal. As these are technically, two separate itineraries - can the shareholder benefit be used Twice?? Would I just
submit separate confirmation numbers?? Or would the two cruises be
considered as one?? Thanks.

You can get the credit for each unique booking number. If you have 2 14-day trips, you would get $250 for each one.

I know the benefit is still being given as I applied yesterday for 3 cruises and got the confirmation today. The cruises are 12/08, 3/09 and 11/09

Yep: The shareholder benefit has been extended indefinitely. However, if the stock continues to perform as it has been I don't know if I'll continue to hold it "indefinitely".

Take care,
Mike

The company just issued a new shareholder benefit letter that continues the benefit and that has no expiration date. It appears that the shareholder benefit is here to stay.

Also of significance, Carnival Corporation has a similar benefit so I think that Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (NYSE: RCL) needs to maintain the benefit to be competitive.

Deo gratia!

We, the employee-former owners, just sold our company, so I'm awaiting the paperwork to submit my stock certificates and get the cash payout, so I'm about to "back up the truck" for a load of shares. Wall Street's sale is timed perfectly!

By way of background, the market really does not understand the cruise industry very well. Cruise stocks took a major dive in the wake of the "9/11" attack when cruise ships were sailing fuller than ever before. And now, high prices of petroleum have Wall Street spooked even though the cruise lines are generating record revenues and record profits.

Here, I should also mention that Mr. Fain made a very interesting comment about fuel at this year's annual stockholders' meeting. He stated that, due to improvements in design and machinery, the Freedom of the Seas class have the same rate of fuel burn per mile as the Voyager of the Seas class, and that the "Project Genesis" vessels will have the same rate of fuel burn per mile as both of these classes of vessels. That is really remarkable improvement in efficiency!

Norm.

You should have a booking number for each leg (cruise) as they are considered separate voyages and each cruise is entitled to Shareholder OBC.

Check with you travel agent and let us know.

They're 2 separate cruises and there should be 2 separate booking numbers. You will have a separate seapass card for each one.

I asked her about that again today and she said as it was "group space" that her agency had with RCCL - and that my two legs were "linked" - she
could not give me separate confirmation ##'s. Should I still "press" her on this??

Yes, you should. Why would they be "linked" together if there was only one booking number. You have to have two things in order to be linked.
Each leg is a separate cruise and has it's own number. You need to get both numbers.

Now is not the time to sell. You probably should buy more stock, it will go up eventually.

I have spoken to my TA about the two separate SBC/two separate cruises.
She advised me to wait for the time being as she was having "issues" with RCCL about the group space and return airfares. She DID acknowledge
that I will be getting two booking confirmations - so I will just let everything ride for the time being. We have six months before departure
so plenty of time. She has been very accommodating on the phone and
I don't want to make 'waves' (excuse the pun) for the present.

I am just joining this thread. If I buy 100 shares of Royal Caribbean stock (which is selling at a good price), I am entitled to receive on board credits (obc), when I book a cruise. My question is: if I have already booked a cruise and then buy stock, can I still send in all the info, stock paperwork, home address, booking or reservation #, and how will I be notified of the on board credit? Thank you for answering these questions.

Cheers

Yes, as far as I know - I did the same thing - bought the stock after booking the cruise. You need to submit your cruise confirmation no. along with
proof of ownership. I am waiting to hear from others on these boards
just how I go about submitting the information. Yes, it's at a good price
right now (of course, if you have bought the stock when it was higher - you probably are not a happy camper) but the benefits are available for
each and every cruise you take. By the way, as Celebrity is part of the
RCCL family - can I use the shareholder benefit with them, as well??

From the letter we received from RCI:

"Onboard credit is valid for any cruise vacation on Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, or Azamara Cruises Ltd. (excludes any sailings on the Celebrity Xpedition Galapagos).

This benefit is offered exclusively to shareholders that directly own a minimum of 100 shares of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. at time of sailing. To take advantage of this offer, please mail the following items to Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., Investor Benefit, P. O. Box 025511, Miami, FL 33102-5511:

- A photocopy of your shareholder proxy card or a current brokerage statement showing proof of ownership of at least 100 shares of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.
- Your name (the owner of the 100 shares will receive the onboard credit)
- Your home address, telephone number and e-mail address.
- Your ship and sailing date
- Your confirmation number
- Your Captain's Club or Crown and Anchor Society number (if any).

Alternatively, you may fax all the required documentation (in a single fax) to 305-373-6699 or email jpeg images of all required documentation to shareholderbenefits@rccl.com".

As to the question of how you actually get notified of the credit.....once you are on board, the credit will show up on your shipboard account (usually the next day). We have gotten these credits several times, and they never fail to put the credit on your account. Your TA should also be able to tell you if the credit is linked to your account.

Bob - You said you get confirmation on your perks. Who sends them and how? I never get it although I have always gotten the on board credit on the sailing itself.

Us, too !! Well as my DH says "the stock market is a crap shoot" - we bought last week when the shares were about $ 24.50. Well, eventually
they will recover - I am more interested in the "perks" right now, anyway.
But could have used that extra $$$ to buy more BLING !!

We just sold our company so I have a BIG fresh infusion of investment $$$, but I'm waiting until I'm sure that this bear (now official!) has hit bottom before buying anything!

In any case, it's nearly impossible to identify an exact bottom until well after the fact. There are a lot of artificial factors that are depressing stock prices rignt now, including speculation in petroleum that have driven fuel prices through the roof, fueling anticipation massive negative impact on the company's profits even though offset by fuel surcharges and solid fares, and panicked rank amateurs, including some fund managers, who don't understand that it's too late to sell when the market has already dropped 15-20%. Nonetheless, when reviewing your portfolio a year or two from now, I doubt that you will have any regrets over what you paid for the shares that you bought yesterday.

Norm.
