I will try not to make this too long. I know that there is another area to post reviews but this seems to get more activity.
We arrived at Port Canaveral pretty early at 10;45 am. The entry into the unloading area was a little bit confusing but we managed ok. Mind you, this was the first time we had cruised with RCCI. We parked in the parking garage, $15 per day.
Entry thru security was easy. Once we got up to the area to check in ti seemed that nothing was going on and many employees were standing area around not giving anyone any direction where to go. Of course some of this was due to us gettung there so early. We waited maybe 30 minutes at most before we checked in and got on the ship.
We really liked the Windjammer as it had a good selection of different things to eat. Overall the food was good on the ship. Some disappointments but not enough to complain.
The Muster Drill was a disaster. It seemed that they left the Windjammer open to long, 4pm so everyone left there at the last minute to get their life jackets so it completely clogged up the stairs. It took 30 mins just to get to our Muster station.
We had an oceanview stateroom and it was as small as I had imagined it would be. Very tight for 3 people since especially since my wife packed everything but the kitchen sink for the 3 night cruise.
The ship itself does show it's age some but still is kept up fairly well. And people are always cleaning. I did notice the infamous odor at times. It did seemed to be it's worst when my son would exit the bathroom though.
I noticed many people complaining about various things during the entire cruise. Don't they know they are on vacation and to go with the flow? There were things that I din't like at times but it's not worth wasting time to complain about it. Move on people and enjoy yourselves.
Nassua and Coco Cay were both nice. We really loved going to Cabbage Beach. The only downer was seeing the local who had gotten jumped and was bleeding badly. Many people got out of the water when he went in to wash the blood off his face. I'm many locals wanted him to get off the beach ASAP to avoid by press.
We had prepaid tips for 2 people. I went to Customer Services to have my sons tips prepaid as well. I filled out the information and the gal at the desk said it was all taken care of. The last night we did not get the voucher for his tips to place into the envolopes. Had to scramble to get cash together for the rest of the tips.
Getting off the ship was delayed because of an alarm went off in the terminal. We still was off the ship by 9 am.
We had a great time and had wished that we had a few more days. There is much more I could add. If you hav any questions feel free to ask. We can't wait to go again.
