Default foreign currency

Do I need to get foreign currency before cruise?
I am going On Enchanment of the Seas August 9, Ft Lauderdale - Georgetown, Grand Cayman = Cozune, Mexico - Ft Lauderdale.
I am taking some cruise line shore excursions. Will I need cash in local currency for miscellaneous expenses?
Thanks!

No. US dollars are accepted for shore excursion tips and shops are more than happy to take US dollars too. If you really want to have some local currency you can use a local ATM to get pesos etc. Have a great cruise.
