Default I heard a rumor

Hi all I need your knowledge. I heard a rumor the RCCL is sending one of their bigger ship to the west coast next year for Mexican Riviera cruises. Is this true? If so which ship is it?

Rumor confirmed http://blogs.usatoday.com/cruiselog/...an.html?csp=34 we are getting the Mariner of the Seas. Okay what do you know about this ship? Is there are ice rink? Flowrider? Rock climbing wall? Johnny Rockets? I need details this impacts my 2009 cruise choice. I'm so happy. 8)

Hi Katlady,
It is not a rumor it's true. The Mariner of the Seas will go around South America to be on the Mexican Riviera.
The Monarch of the Seas will replace the Sovereign of the Seas.
Have a nice day. MTL

Yes the Mariner has a rock wall, ice skating and Johnny Rockets. It does not have the flow rider. It is a wonderful ship with great art work in the stairs. Even though we have done the Mexico route too many times, we will go just for the ship. I knew the Monarch was leaving for Cape Canaveral but had not heard the SOS was replacing it. I wish something a little newer would replace it instead. I did hear the Radiance will be in San Diego. Another beautiful ship.

To bad about the flowrider but hey the ice rink makes up for it.

Here is what the USA today says,

"Royal Caribbean also announced that the 90,000-ton Radiance of the Seas will sail four- and five-night Mexican Riviera voyages from the West Coast in the fall of 2009, becoming the newest and largest ship to sail short cruises from the region.

Mariner's itinerary includes stops in Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan. Radiance will call at Cabo and (on five-night itineraries) Ensenada."
Ensenada is not my favorite. But I could do the 7 day again.

I and my DH and about 800 other "friends" will be joining the Mariner for
this fantastic trip (so far) - can't wait - never been on the Mariner or with RCCL
nor been cruising for over 30 days - so this will truly be an experience
of MY lifetime!! 8)

Oops sorry Paul I must have missed it.

Sherrie I told my hubby about the Mariner of the seas coming to the west coast he wasn't nearly as excited as I was. Maybe I'm a cruise geek cause even through I have no plans to book yet it's nice to know I can in the future. Even if it's a 2010 cruise.

I told my BF and he wasn't as excited either. But in 3 days I'm taking him on his first cruise and hopefully he'll be singing a different tune after that .

You lucky dog 2 days until you cruise. I'm totally jealous. Have fun. There are some cute purses in Ensenada. Have fun shopping. Check out the designer handbag poll. I brought a handbag similar to one of these fakes. I just thought I was buying a cute bag I didn't find out until later it was a designer knockoff. A lot of people ask me about my bag they like it so I'm not worried about it. I'm not saying which ones. But maybe you will see it in Ensenada. See if you can pick the designer bag.

The Mariner OTS is doing 7-night itineraries out of Los Angeles starting in January 2009, the Radiance OTS is doing about 2 months of 4 and 5-night itineraries out of San Diego in fall of 2009.

Sorry, but the Mariner will NOT be in California until mid-Feb. She's coming in from Valpariso, Chile due to arrive on Feb. 18th or 19th.
(This is the last leg of her repositioning from Pt. Canaveral via South
America and Cape Horn). 8)

1. The Sovereign of the Seas last cruise out of Port Canaveral is 27 October 2008. She then goes to Europe to become part of the Pulmantour fleet.

2. The Monarch of the Seas is replacing her in Port Canaveral beginning 10 November 2008.

3. The Mariner of the Seas leaves Port Canaveral 4 January 2009 for Los Angeles. Arrives Rio de Janeiro 19 January. Leaves Rio to go around the horn to Valparaiso arriving 3 February. Leaves Valparaiso for Los Angeles arriving 19 February. Will then do 7 night Mexican Riviera cruises.

4. Currently no ship will will replace the Monarch for 3 and 4 night cruises.

The Mariner and Radiance are great ships, especially the Radiance if you like a smaller ship. The Sovereign will be missed.

2009 Date(s): Sep 06 , Sep 13 , Sep 20 , Sep 27 , Oct 04 , Oct 11 , Oct 25 , Nov 01 , Nov 08 , Nov 15 , Nov 22 , Nov 29 , Dec 06 , Dec 13
2010 Date(s): Jan 03 , Jan 10 , Jan 17 , Jan 24 , Jan 31 , Feb 07 , Feb 14 , Feb 21 , Feb 28 , Mar 07 , Mar 14 , Mar 21 , Mar 28 , Apr 04 , Apr 11 , Apr 18 , Apr 25

I looked at the budlight party cruise great price and it sounds like fun. The only problem is it's not open to CA residents? Does this mean I need to move?

Hey katlady~~~ we are booked on Radiance on Sept. 30, 2009 out of San Diego.

It's only a 4 dayer, but our first RCCL cruise. Radiance will be home ported in San Diego for a season.

Is it the usual Catalina island, and Enseneda Cruise? Or are you going out to Cabo? I love Cabo.
