Renting Snokeling equipment

Someone mentioned on another thread that I could "rent" my snokeling
equipment on board the Mariner of the Seas - this way I would have more
control about the hygienic state of the mouthpieces. Has anyone done this and about what is the cost?? Thanks.

Sherrie, do yourself a favor and buy your own snorkeling kit. I personally would not use a mouthpiece that had been previously in someone else mouth. Try crazyscuba.com online. They are very good and you can actually call them and ask them questions. Bob

Thanks, Bob. Actually, I did just that two years ago when we did the Panama Canal with the hopes of hitting the beaches. When we got to
Acapulco - no swimming allowed - ocean was too rough. And then in
Aruba - my DH didn't want to go to the beach. So, I took it back to
the store. But I think I will give it another try - the kit just has the mouthpiece, mask and earplugs, I think. No fins (I can rent those, right??). Plus, I would be signing up for a guided snokeling tour. Want
to check out my local YMCA to see if I can get any lessons before the
trip. Or maybe I'll just try it on my own in the pool.

Sherrie, the kit that they gave me had a mesh bag, snorkle, fins, and mask. Snorkeling is a lot of fun. Always look forward to this activity on all of my cruises. Bob

I've rented from other places before. If you think about it, your mouth and everything else is in Seawater.....

EVERYTHING will be killed just about instantly in sea water. So there's really no chance of something getting passed on or whatever people's fears are.

It's not like a toilet seat...

Just buy your own the snorkel at home -dive shop-sporting goods or online.
Easy to pack and it will work with the masks the tours provide. I take mine and haven't had any problems.
Anybody know what the best snorkel itinerary would be? I've heard Belize is great.
