toiletries
It's been a few years since I've cruised. Are sample toiletries still provided by the ship?
|
We didn't have any in our suite so don't know about the rest of the ship.
We also had suites on our 2 Carnival cruises and both had a small basket with toiletries which was nice! |
We had shampoo in the shower, but that was it. Nothing else on the Brilliance.
|
Forgot about the shampoo dispenser in the shower, we didn't use it.

We just got off of the Monarch. They supplied a bar of soap for the sink, a bar of soap for the shower, and a shampoo dispenser in the shower. |
Thanks for all the info everyone. :D

I see where this topic is pretty "old"....but since RCI seems to be cutting back now - I'm wondering if anyone who has recently sailed on the Mariner OTS can tell me if they are providing shampoo / conditioner / hand lotion in the rooms anymore.
|
Good question with so many cuts in other areas I would think this one would make sense!
|
Just off of the Mariner on Oct. 11, 2009. Here what you get. Two bars of soap. Shampoo dispenser in the shower. That's it. No conditioner, no hand lotion, no candy on your pillow. We are Diamond. Lucky to get a pillow. OM

Was on the Freedom of the Seas 3 weeks ago-- same thing--bars of soap for the shower and sink, shampoo in a dispenser . Personally I liked the shampoo, but I'm not a woman with long hair. :) :)
Re / the chocolates on the pillow, I could care less--after so much good food and desserts available in the dining room , I didn't need a chocolate before going to bed! :) :) |
Also just off the Mariner and had toiletries in the Jr.Suite.
|
In the suites there are some pretty good quality shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion as well as bar soap. We still bring our own stuff but really liked the lotion they provided.
|
I can not afford a Jr. Suite. But the logo shop on board will sell you a small bag and I mean a small bag of M and M's for only $1.49 per bag. Or if you use the mini bar in your room two bags only cost you $4.95. OM

Just off Freedom and only had bar soaps for sink and shower and shampoo in the shower. Suz asked our room steward for lotion and he gave her lotion that she adored.
|
Thanks for all the replies. I appreciate the "correct" information since RCCL's website still claims:
"And, like a fine hotel, all of our staterooms provide soap, shampoo and conditioner. " I had a feeling that was no longer the case. Not a problem.....got my shampoo and conditioner packed. I think I'll ask the Room Steward about lotion....but I won't hold my breath to get any! I just want to get on the ship!! |
You could bring your own shampoo and use the shampoo dispenser as body wash.

The cruiseline's website is accurate; each cabin does receive soap, shampoo and conditioner. The conditioner is mixed in with the shampoo. If you are accustomed to your own products; I would recommend you bring them along, no different as you would if you were traveling to a Westin or Sheraton. Suite guests get a little more fancy shampos and lotions similar to how hotels upgrade those types of things for club floor rooms or suites as well. Just remember, if you wanted lotion or something else, just ask your cabin stewart; I'm sure they will be happy to make an exception and get you the lotion or whatever. They are there to please.
