Default Cococay for the disabled

Hi everyone! this is my first time writing! We are going on our second cruise in Sept. This will be our first Royal cruise. My husband is disabled and in a wheelchair. We were told that there are beach wheelchairs available for CocoCay. Anybody ever used one?

Welcome to CM!

Yes they do have the beach wheelchairs. I've seen them last month in Labadee and I'm assuming the same ones are available in CocoCay.

Never had anyone in my party that needed one but from what I saw the beach wheelschairs seemed like they were easy to manoeuver around the sand.

Looks something like this.

Enjoy your 1st cruise on Royal!!

Nice big wheels for the sand. I have seen these at Coco Cay and at Labadee. Bob

I was on CoCoCay just last week and I saw them there too! There was someone using one also.

I have used one of these and they are NOT the most comfortable chairs in the world. They tip back a bit and you can't sit straight up when being pushed about. You must be pushed in these as you can not use them by yourself. My husband pushed me around the island without much difficulty. I just was not comfortable. But you need to use one if you are wheel chair bound as a reg. wheelchair will not get through the sandy areas.
