Default Sailed Mariner Recently?

I am sailing Mariner on September 7th (have sailed her many times since 2003, and this will be my last Caribbean Mariner cruise) and am curious about the current entertainment. I've heard various reports about WHO the Cruise Director is. I am curious also about the pub entertainer, and if the Beatles show is currently doing it's Mariner stint. Can anyone fill me in? Thanks in advance! 8)

I haven't cruised on the Mariner ever, but I'm on this boat on this date. This is my first RC Cruise.

Hi! I will be onboard with a group of about 60 - we'll be spending lots of time in the Conference Center on Deck 2, (especially on the "at sea" days) so stop by and say, "hello"! (I'm running the events for my group onboard, so please feel free to pop in any time!).

Mariner is absolutely breathtaking, and quite impressive to say the least. Definitely my favorite by far in the "Voyager" class. Early last year (2007), I sailed another ship that is one year newer than Mariner (different cruise line). I'd already had my group set for later in the year on Mariner, and as I walked through this other ship, I noticed lots of worn carpeting, worn teak on deck railings, dirty windows, not exactly the cleanest...and I couldn't help but worry about the state of Mariner since it was a year older. I was so pleased and relieved to find that she still looked and felt brand new when we boarded for our group cruise later in the year! I'd sailed both vessels in their inaugural years and saw both at their "best" and was astounded by how the other cruise line just seemed to let their ship "go" for lack of a better term, compared with how well kept Mariner remains. So all that to say, she is absolutely beautiful!

I am curious about the current entertainers. It's a big part of the experience for me, and I have always seem to hit it lucky on RCCL. Matt Yee, who of late does the Freedom Class ships is AWESOME and I've been fortunate enough to cruise with him onboard twice. There was a Beatles themed show a couple of years ago that was the BEST I'd seen to date, and last year in the Royal Promenade's pub (Wig & Gavel on Mariner) we had the BEST guitarist (Mark B.) who is now on another ship I believe. Anyway, the onboard entertainment is part of the experience for me, and I was hoping to hear from someone who'd recently sailed Mariner and could give me an idea of what (and who!) to expect in two weeks!

My name is Terri, and as I said, please do stop by the Conference Center and say "hi"! I am anxious to hear what you think of Mariner once you've experienced sailing on her!

See you in two weeks!

We sailed the Mariner in June and it was truly wonderful. The director's name was Drew, don't remember his last name. The entertainment was so-so. Maybe it was just not my taste. Email me if you have any questions.

Send an e-mail request to Crown & Anchor. On the RC main web page, click on the crown & anchor tab, when that web page opens, scroll down about half way and on the right is a link that says contact us. Click on the link and fill out the requested info and ask if they have the entertainment line up for your sailing.

The captains have 10 week rotations as masters. the current master of the Mariner is Johnny Faevelen who started rotation 7/27/08. Per Kristoffersen starts his rotation 10-06-08. Since I don't know your sail date you can do the math and will get your answer. Sorry I don't know the curent CD or when they rotate. You might get that answer from Crown & Anchor too.

We are on the Mariner's repositioning cruise Jan. 4, 2009 to South America and Around Cape Horn. Actually, it's 3 legs.

NY Cruisin Mama, I would send a request for all of that info to Crown & Anchor. They may be able to answer your questions. Since this is a re-po cruise they probably will have different entertainment since they tend to pick up different acts along the way at the ports. They may also have another captain assigned to do the repo.
Good Luck.

PS don't forget the Bonine, I hear that actually going around the horn can get a little dicey...
