Clothes Line in Shower?
Does anyone know if RCCL installed pull out clothes lines in their stateroom showers? It will be great if they did for drip drying swim suits and underwear! The price of having laundry done by the crew is outrageous! (I'm hoping that we don't end up packing more than we need to...)

You are not alone Cindy! I was glued to the weather channel and so excited I barely slept. This was our best cruise yet, we got GREAT people at our table who have since become friends that we will keep in contact with. We enjoyed ourselves so much. Which ship are you taking?

At a $1-50 for a shirt to be laundered and pressed to a fabulous finish? Outrageous? Don't think so! Great value

Just got back from our Baltic/Russia cruise on the JOS and it was $3 for a shirt to be washed and pressed but $1.50 for pressing only. We had DH suit dry cleaned for $9. The next time we do a long cruise, especially Europe, we plan to have all our shirts and tops pressed only on the first day. It will be easier not having to worry about wrinkled clothes after a long flight.
We did have a retractable clothesline in our shower. Our neighbors, a cute English couple celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary, washed their clothes out in the sink/shower and hung them on a make shift clothesline with clothes pins and all on their balcony while in port. We could see all their under garments in the reflection. I wonder what everyone on those harbor cruises thought when they rode by and saw the sights!!

That is a pretty lame thing to do on a cruise. Bob

We are sailing on Radiance of the Seas. I've been googling anything related and reading as many reviews as I've been able to find! I tried to find out who our cruise director will be by emailing RCCL but have not received a reply in 4 days... apparently people say that the CD can really make the cruise extra special and I'm hoping that we have a good one!

RE: Laundry Pricing
Hi DannysDad,
Actually I downloaded the prices for laundry and having a shirt laundered is now 2.50-3.00. Pants are 3.50. Swimsuits, 2.00. Underwear (underwear!) 1.20 each. Dresses are 5.00, blouses 3.50. Okay, so the pricing seems reasonable, but when you add up all the individual pieces for two people on a 15 night cruise, you can see it gets really expensive! I'm thrilled about the clothes line in the shower and will bring along a bottle of Woolite. I'm bringing along a travel steamer (Tobi Quick-I found at Target) that works amazingly well for smoothing out wrinkles. Of course, some things we will still have laundered and pressed, but certainly not our underwear, socks or swimsuits. Cindy

Alright here is where I am going to get BOOed by all of the RC lovers. This is where Carnival has RC beat. They have self-serve laundry facilities on most floors, and in those rooms they have FREE irons. It is a great thing to have.
Usually when I get out my dinner clothes for the first dinner I got ahead and iron my pants and the shirts that are really wrinkled. Then toward the end of the cruise we usually do one or two loads of laundry while napping or enjoying the sun. That way when we get home everything is not dirty.
