Default About to take our first RCCL cruise!

...apparently, on Monarch's second sailing out of Port Canaveral - their first time running the three night itinerary. Even though we've been to Nassau on every one of our cruises, we still enjoy it. Looking forward to a new private island, too!

I've heard that Royal is more about the environment than the food - I'm hoping it'll still be plenty good for a couple of unpicky eaters.

Plus, it looks like there will be a smooth jazz group on our sailing. Maybe we'll be able to sneak into a concert or something =)

Enjoy your cruise on the Monarch.

I'm sure the food will be just fine.

A smooth jazz group onboard that sounds like fun!!!

Living in California, I've been on the Monarch many times for the 3 and 4 day cruises. The food is just fine, actually i thought the dining room food was the best when compared to similiar lines in the same class, Carnival and NCL. The buffet would rank second to carnival and NCL comes in 3rd in all categories.

The rooms are pretty small, only around 150 square feet compared to 200 for Carnival, but that is not a big deal.

The ship is a bit older but very well kept. We were sad to see RCC reposition this ship out of L.A. as it now only leaes Carnival offering 3 and 4 day cruises, which means the prices will go up!

Thanks for the replies - I've never actually come away from a cruise hungry, and can't imagine it happening this time. We don't expect everything to be fantastic, just that we'll have enough choices to find something we are happy with at any given time. It sounds like we won't have any trouble this time either =)

Nine days - I can't wait!
