Our good friends Jeff and Linda sailed the Mariner last week on their very first cruise ever. They were in Grand Cayman when Paloma was inching up towards the island. By the time Paloma got there they were in Cozumel.
They said that the cruise was magnificent and they had no problems with the hurricane at all.
Now... our other friends Rob and Liz left yesterday (Sunday) out of Miami on Carnival. They are doing an Eastern Caribbean itinerary. They told us before setting said that Plans were for the ship to do a wider arc northeast of Cuba to get to San Juan and the itinerary was not expected to change.
The plot thickens.... WE are leaving this coming Sunday on the same itinerary but on Freedom of the Seas. So we've been watching closely.
Paloma is almost gone.... 30 mph winds traveling at 3mph it's been downgraded to a tropical depression. From what I can gather, there isn't a thing to worry about!

Lou, it's the restricted T/A site that we click on at the bottom of the regular website's home page. I just wanted to be certain I was giving you the freshest info we had but am always hesitant to mention the T/A aspect since am not trying to sell here. Just another "Loyal Royal" who cruised so much, I went into the business after wife and I both retired from Law Enforcement.
