Default Laundry services question and opinions

Have cruised with RCL several times on 7 day caribbean cruises, but next summer we are taking a mediterranean cruies for 12 days on RCL and my question in regarding the laundry service. Obviously it is kinda hard to take enough clothes for 12 days so we will be having to use the laundry service. How does it work? How long does it take? What things should you not send to them to clean and so on? Any other info I might need would be appreciated. thanks

We did a 12 day cruise in August with 3 pre and 1 post cruise days. We did not have to do any laundry. We brought enough underclothes and wore our pants and tops more a few times. If you plan it right, it can be done. The ship had a 1 day special for underwear and pajamas but we didn't use it. We did have DH suit cleaned/pressed and it was returned the next day in time for fornal night. Next year when we do our 13 day TA on the Independence we are going to turn in DH suit, some shirts and my tops for pressing to save space. Our neighbors, who were celebrating their 60th anniversary, washed and hung their laundry out on a makeshift clothes line at every port.

Default Worth it

Since you will probably be in a pretty warm climate the things you would be washing would be underwear and lightweight cotton. About half way through the cruise there is usually a special for laundry-a bag you can fill for about $20. Takes a day. This beats out swampy cramped tiny bathroom with dripping undies etc. Enjoy your cruise and relax, let someone else do it.
I snore and like a cool cabin. I'm a happy person.

We just finished a 10 day repo on Jewel of the Seas and they had two $20 dollar specials. Well worth it and a lot less dirty laundry when you get home.

Royal Caribbean..........Please add at least one self-serve laundry to each of your ships. Those of us who don't want others washing our clothes would greatly appreciate it.
