Default Shareholder onboard credit perk Disappears (almost) in 2009

From the Royal Caribbean Investory Relations Announcement:

Please note that as of December 31, 2008, the Shareholder Onboard Credit will not be combinable with other Onboard Booking Credits, Loyalty Programs and/or other Reduced Fare Offerings. For bookings made prior to December 31, 2008, the Shareholder Onboard Credit is combinable under certain conditions. Please direct queries to InvestorRelations@rccl.com, and a prompt response will be forthcoming.

Does this mean this perk will almost all but disappear in 2009? The stock price dropped a lot today $6.79

And they have suspended the dividend.

I also heard about the dividend on the news today. Very sad economic times.

Default Shareholder On Board Credits

Well, I may be a fool, but on Friday I bought more Royal Caribbean stock at $6.27 per share. At the close, it was up 38 cents.

Yep. However, you can still combine onboard credits from your Royal Caribbean Visa card with another OBC, such as shareholder credit. Plus, any OBC your travel agent gives you can be combined with another OBC.

So.......when you book, you will have to decide which is the best deal - balcony discount? Shareholder credit? NextCruise credit?
