The official announcement date was the 5th with the policy taking effect today 12-08-08. The policy is clear on new bookings sailing after Jan 1 but it certainly leaves a gap for those of us sailing this month (leave Sat on "Indy" woo-hoo). Am hoping for a credit but will understand if we don't get it, Robbie

I have also eliminated the fuel supplement on the Minnow of the Seas since gas is down to $1.65 a gallon now! 8)

Depends when the booking was made, whether is has been paid in full and when the sailing is. But it will be a full refund either way. The Cruise Queen still has a free cruise coming up. 8)

Default May show up on the original invoice...

...or so my TA said, but will be eliminated before the final payment is due. I am booked for a March 2009 cruise, and this is what my TA indicated....

Royal you should be getting an onboard credit. Don't know what your fuel charge was for a 10 day for 4 people.
Yes pretty much use it or loose it. But a 10 day cruise should be enough time to use it.
Enjoy 8)

Royal I would call your TA and find out just what the total onboard credit will be. Between the 4 of you I'm sure you will not have any remaining at the end of the cruise.

Also I want to help you spend the onboard credit so please have a Mojito at Boleros for me! 8)

Default Unused Onboard Credit

Royal:

Near the end of the cruise, if you see you're going to have unused onboard credit, go to the casino and get an "advance" on your SeaPass card. You will have to pay a 3% fee for getting the money, but at least you won't lose it.

On our upcoming Explorer cruise, we will have a total of $645 onboard credit. You can be sure we won't leave any of it behind......

And then place it ALL on the number 13 on the roulette table, win and then you have LOTS of money to take home!

Your TA will be able to tell you how much you were charged. Whatever that amount is - that will be the amount of the OBC.

Well my TA just told me the amount...for a 10 day cruise fuel supplement....it is a total of 198.00 FOR PARTY OF 4) I don't think that is right. At time of booking it stated: fuel supplement of $10.00 per person per day for the 1st and 2nd guest in a state room (subject to a maximumm of $140.00 per person) applies, each additional guest is $5.00 per person, per day (subject to a max. of $70.00 per person)

Cruise price went down $100 per person and we get the $50 per person fuel charge taken off, so our final payment (in June 09) will be $300 less!

Maybe cruise price will get lower!

Are you sure that there is a 3% fee? This will be only our second cruise on RCCL but have many cruises on Celebrity. Celebrity never charged a fee for a casino cash advance on our SS card. Thanks!
