Default How early of return air can I consider booking out of FLL?

My next cruise sails in and out of Fort Lauderdale, March 12-29, and gets into dock early that Sunday. How early of a flight can I reasonably consider booking? There are few choices that I am seeing, but didn't want to wait until late that Sunday evening if you all thought I could do one earlier!

Thanks!

I would not pick out a flight out of Fll until at least noon. The airport is very close to the cruise terminal. Bob

FLL airport is much easier to get to than most ports... but NOON is a good rule of thumb. You can most likely make some earlier flights, but any delays, or things like a lack of taxis at the port, can easily play a factor.

In the majority of cases on FLL cruise I could have been at the airport by 9:30 or so in the AM... which would be fine to make 10:30 flights, but that's a gamble.

I have flown out at 11:00...but that was several yrs back..the noon rule of thumb, especially now, with so many ships docking, and increased security, it just makes more sense.....

I have left FLL as early as 1030am and have been fine. It is a bit of a chance but it has never been a problem for me. The nice thing about having an early flight is that they let you off the ship with the first couple of groups which in turn allows you to avoid all the people. Noon is probably the text book answer and the right answer but, I will take my chances on the early flights until I get busted. I have young children, so I am always ansy to get off the ship and get home. Good luck!

The above posters are right the noon rule is always good to go by. Better safe then sorry.

However I did recently make it to the FL airport at 9:30am and jumped on a 10:30am flight.

Enjoy! 8) 8)
