Default Voyager info for an RCCL newbie?

Hi all! As of today, I am booked on the Voyager. Yay!! It's not until 2/21/10, but I always book at least a year out. The planning is half the fun.

I am completely new to Royal Caribbean, and was hoping some of you nice people could help me with a few questions I have? I'd really appreciate it!

1.) Are there any charges for activities such as ice skating, inline skating, rockwall climbing, etc.? My friend and I both have sons who are way excited about those things!

2.) Are there saunas/steam rooms/heated tile loungers/etc. available for use for free, or do you have to use them in conjunction with a spa treatment? And does anyone have any pictures of such? I have searched all over, and aren't having any luck finding any.

3.) Is there a limit to how many bags each person can bring aboard? (We're not flying)

4.) Have people's teens been pretty happy with the teen facilities/programs onboard? Our boys will be 14.

5.) Along those lines, my son will be turning 14 in the middle of the cruise. Is there anything special I can do to celebrate?

Thanks SO much for any answers or suggestions!!

Like the above post mentioned. No charge for skating, rock climbing, etc; you will have to sign a release letter when u do the rock climbing. there is a whirlpool or hottub which is free. I believe the only saunas are in the spa, which charge to use them. I have not seen any baggage limitations in the cabins. Depending on what type cabin you have, u may get a little crowded with bags laying around. Your suitcases and duffle bags will fit under the beds; your backpacks and computer bags will fit in the closet or in the corner. There is a good teen program onboard as well as an awesome video arcade area. The teens have their own disco/nighclub to hang out in. Any birthday arrangements can be made with the head waiter or your table waiter prior to having dinner on your sons birthday. Normally the entire wait staff will come in singing happy birthday and bring him a special cake with candles. Again, make sure you coordinate this in advance with the head waiter or your table waiter. Hope this helps

Be sure to let your travel agent know, your son will be celebrating his birthday during the cruise...

I think you and your family will love Voyager...

Be sure to get tickets for the ice show, they are comp, but the seating area isn't as large as the main theatre, so they issue tickets for different days and time. Very much worth seeing.

Thanks so much, you guys!! I did let the TA know about my son's birthday, and it is on our confirmation.

It sounds like the boys are going to have an awesome time onboard -- which means the moms will get to have fun, too!! My son's best friend and his mom, also my friend, are coming along with us. Both of us have been single moms for many years, and rarely get to do "grownup" things... we're totally looking forward to this! Plus, they have never been on a cruise, so DS and I are looking forward to introducing them to their new addiction. *grin*

Only 412 more days!
