OT - RCC Cancelled Cruise

If a RCCL cruise is cancelled, and insurance for that cruise was bought through the travel agent, the TA does all the paperwork.

Does the TA get any commission from the travel insurance for doing the paper work.

Do we have to pay for the paperwork.

You shouldn't have to do anything------that's exactly why you bought insurance.

The only thing you must do is go to the bank with the check.

I believe the Insurance Company pays for everything. Every time "Nothing bad happens" that company keeps all insurance money. They also keep some in reserve for such occassions (which are rare).

The TA gets a commission for the initial sale of the insurance policy. Depending on the policy, the insurance policy may also protect the agent's commission on the cruise sale as well, because if the cruise is cancelled and not rebooked, the cruiseline will recall the commission. The insurance adjuster does the paperwork, the TA will just send everything by fax to the adjuster for them to process.
