Serenade of the Seas or Millenium

The Serenade certainly gets great reviews.
However, the Millenium is going to have a
pretty extensive dry dock in May and come
out looking great also. This may be a no brainer,
but I can't seem to make my mind up. I can
get a superior balcony on the Serenade for
the same price as an oceanview on Celebrity's
Millenium. Celebrity does Hubbard Glacier and
Serenade does Tracy Arm( I question how far
into Tracy Arm the ship can go at the end of May)
I don't want to be on a ship with alot of smoking
and a million announcements. I know Celebrity
has a new smoking policy.
Hope someone can help me sort this out.
Thanks

We have been on both ships. We love the Serenade, but the gripe we have about all Royal Caribbean ships is the constant announcements. We get tired of hearing about the art auction, the sexy legs contest, the belly flop contest, and especially about the upcoming bingo games.

You will have to decide between price and "privacy". Given the cost and the difference in accomodations, I would go with Royal Caribbean. Why? I want the balcony every time, and I can tune out the announcements.

Haven't been on Celebrity so I can't comment on that ship but I have been on Serenade and sister ships Brilliance and Jewel.

The cabins are beautiful on those ships (including Radiance). The announcements are brief and don't really factor into any pleasures of cruising to me.

The ship went to Hubbard glacier this past summer and probably alternates every other year to keep things fresh.

My understanding is that the food is superb on Celebrity but again, I can only vouch for Serenade and the food was outstanding.

The entertainment was also very good, although, it changes drastically from week to week. Thus, you don't know the caliber until you go to the performances.

Serenade has a putt putt course which is a lot of fun. The music is always
very good as is the Explorer Academy's dancers.

Hope some of this helps you.

I've been to both Tracy Arm and Hubbard glacier, and I'd go for the Celebrity cruise that visits Hubbard. While on Infinity, we went to Hubbard and it was amazing. While Tracy Arm is in itself still beautiful, doesn't quite compare to Hubbard.

What are the other ports?
