Default My Time Dining

Has anyone heard of "My Time Dining" on select RCCL ships? Just booked on Freedom as was informed of this feature when I asked for a table for two. Seems like a section of a dining room has been dedicated to this plan. Passengers come to the dining room anytime between 6:30 and 9:00pm and are given table of their choice. However, had to pay gratuities up front. A code is on your Sea Pass to designate participation. Was I dreaming or what?

I actually enjoyed My Time Dining. We picked the time of 6:45pm and there was always a table for two ready for us when we got to the dining room. We also had the same waiters each nite. 1st seating may be alittle too early and late seating is way to late for me. Yes we did prepay the tips however the service was excellent. I always had it in my mind that if you prepay the tips the service might be lacking but it was not the case.

Default Thanks

Thanks CruiseQueen. After being told this was on their web site and not being able to find it, I was beginning to question my hearing and sanity! The cruise will take care of that!!!!

We are on the Voyager TA for April and have requested My Time Dining. After reading your experience, I believe we made the right choice. Thanks for sharing! Slim

Yes we had booked 1st seating and did not know about my time dining at the time. When we got on the ship we found out about it and did the switch and paid the tips right then and there and we were set for the duration of the cruise.

Indy in 18 days!!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!! Enjoy!! 8) 8)

We were booked on the same cruise as Paul but had to cancel when DW was laid off at the end of the year (after 15 years...grrrr). You will have to enjoy the cruise enough for all of us.

Sigh....maybe next year....

That is too bad, and I hope DW can get back on the feet quickly. Truthfully, I am not sure we should be taking this cruise...our number one daughter goes off to college next year....

Where is the MyTime area located in the dining room? Are they almost all 'table for two'? How does it work with the dining room closing between first and second seating? How many tables are there (aprox). We're sailing on the Mariner on April 19th 'down Mexico way'. Is the Mariner offering MyTime? Thanks, all.

My Time is usually set up in one section of the dining room by the doors.
The My Time section is open the whole time during dinner and has nothing to do with the time between 1st and 2nd seating set dinner. Not sure how many tables in total there were but being it is by the door I never saw anyone waiting for a table anyone coming to the door got seated right away. There are tables for two and also larger tables too.

Also the waiters in the My Time section do not take part of the singing that is done by the dining room waiters.

I would think by now that all the ships have My Time Dining but I'm not sure. You might want to give Royal a call to see if it is offered on your sailing.

Enjoy your cruise!! 8)

Thanks for the info. It's always nice to have options. We're booked in an aft-facing cabin and really looking forward to our upcoming cruise. Especially since it's snowing here in northern Idaho right now.....

Paul (and others).... Welcome back.

You should be back on dry land by now. How was the ship and did you get a chance to try "My Time Dining"?
