We've been Diamond on RCI for the last 3 cruises and love the
Diamond perks, especially the Concierge lounge.
We were Captain's Club Founder members on Celebrity and were
upgraded to their Elite status...I guess comparable to Diamond
We just returned from a 4 day cruise on Century. And while we
enjoyed the cruise, ship, service and staff, their Elite perks were
nonexistent. The only thing I can think of ...priority embarkation
(Almost anyone can get in this line) and priority disembarkation,
which was nice...we like being one of the first off the ship before
Now our cruise was only 4 days, so perhaps on longer cruises,
there is an Elite cocktail party, but there was just the usual
repeaters cocktail party. No gifts to room, no chocolate covered
strawberries, and no serivce yet alone drinks from a concierge
Celebrity's loyalty program certainly can't compare to RCI.
I'd be interested to know if on longer cruises, there are more perks
for Elite on Celebrity.
I once asked the Concierge on Royal Caribbean why Celebrity didn't offer the same perks, i.e., Concierge Lounge, etc. The answer was "because they don't have to". I took that to mean that people sailing with =X= can afford to buy their own drinks, don't need coupon books, and so forth. There's probably some truth in that, but still, it would be nice if they had a CL on their ships.
