Default Ice Skating

Does anyone know what hours the ice skating rink (Mariner) is open for 'open skate'? Open while in port? An hour or two during each day? Or?

It varies from ship to ship, but usually on sea days especially when there is no ice show. They are 45 minute sessions.

I can only tell you that on our recent Navigator cruise it was open twice, once during our dinner time, and once for the children, in the evening (to the best of my knowledge). My sisinlaw was disappointed because she wanted to do it. The ice show was spectacular, so we did enjoy the ice, just not on our own two feet.

When we were on the Independence last November it was only open for public skate once. DH and our friends skated - they enjoyed it but the "skates" they lend you are rather a joke.

I was looking through some cruise compasses which showed several open skate times. Is it possible this was because of rough seas or boat roll due to wind?
