Default Back 2 Back on Different Ships??

Hello Everyone!

Anyone ever cruise a B2B on different ships?

I have the option of both ships out of Mia or one from Mia the other from Fll.

I'm thinking it might be a pain to pack get off one ship and hop on the next one and unpack again not to mention going through check in for a 2nd time.

Maybe it is easier to stay on the same ship?

Any thoughts from my fellow Cruisemates?

Of course it's very easy to just stay on the same ship especially if your in the same cabin. However it is fun to sail two different ships as well. I have done it once. We sailed the 7 day Grand Princess and then the 5-day Splendor b2b. Two completely different ships and experiences. Different menus, different shows & entertainers and different experiences since it was two different cruise lines. We just took our time debarking the Grand and in fact it was cool seeing the ship we were going on that day docked at the next pier. The porter took our bags from one terminal to the next and checked them so that was no problem at all. In fact while we were walking over we saw our DD and neighbors pull up to drop their bags so it went very well.

I have been looking at doing the Oasis of the Seas and the Carnival Dream b2b in September 2010 out of FLL. Might as well.

Default Back to Back Cruises

We have done three b2b cruises. The first was on two different ships; one was a Sat.-Sat., the next was Sun.-Sun. Had to stay overnight in Miami, but not a great inconvenience.

The second was the same ship, but had to change cabins. The steward took care of everything for us.

The third was the same ship, same cabin.

There's something to be said for b2b's on different ships, as Snoozeman has said. Different ports, different entertainment, etc.

If I had my 'druthers, I'd try to get the same cabin as on the first leg of the b2b. No fuss, no muss.

Snoozeman, I strongly suggest you do the Carnival Dream first before Oasis!
You might experience too hard of a let down the other way around!!

I hear ya

I'd prefer that way, Dream then Oasis, but since they alternate itineraries it may not be. I prefer the western Caribbeans routes. I've been looking for over a week and I notice they have actually raised the price just a bit on one so I may pull the trigger soon. I was kinda wanting another sale.

For me, I would love to change ships, different menus, entertainment, and, vibes, and not repititious.....BUT, I would only do it in the same port...

Thanks everyone for the replys. OK now I'm convinced that a B2B on different ships would be a good choice.

However If I do stay on the same ship I'll try to book the same cabin but if not no biggie.
Whatever the rates do in the next few weeks will tell me which ships to book. Still many cabins available with both Royal and Carnival.

Snooze....B2B Oasis and Dream!! You go Boy!!!

Mike & Suz...Love your countdown clock!!!!

Pdad....Like your clocks too!!
