ccl loses rccl gains

It does seem everybody is badmouthing royal caribean alot. So just for my two cents worth i have been on 14 cruises with ccl but will be gone on rccl for the first time this month. I booked a 14 day cruise for just 17 dollars more than i paid for 7 days on ccl in december both were same type rooms. I was disapointed in carnivals response to a complant i made during my last cruise. Their loss is rccl gain only thing will miss is some little perks from being platnium on ccl.

We did a B2B on Navigator in the Med last year. You will love the ship, specially the main Promenade, it's a great place to wander,people watch, have a drink or a snack.
Don't miss the parade down the Promenade on the first night and don't miss the Ice shows.

From what I've read, no one is "badmouthing" just discussing and pointing out areas where the posters feel RCI is falling short, taking things away, overpricing, wait... just read Kukis blog. It says it all way better than ALL of us can.

I would have to agree with OP. A lot of Royal bashing going on as of late. Some call it overpricing, I call it capitalism. If you could afford to go on a cruise then you can afford to pay $4.95 for Johnny Rockets( I have read this keeps the waiting time down) If the 5 bucks is too much for you there is plenty of included food available. If you don't want to pay extra for a steak, order something else. Stay away from the casino and take advantage of all the free entertainment if you so choose. The late night room service charge(which includes tip) is about what I would normally tip anyway.

Oh well there is the issue you are compared a 7 day with a 14 day. We did a 14 night TA from Miami to Rome for $1329 balcony room. The cruise left April 26, 2008 with $200 ship board credit. So that is probably much closer to what you paid. 7 days are normally round trip. TAs are repositioning the ship and that is always cheaper. But have a great time on your cruise. It's always good to try out a different line now and then.

I agree the Casino can be trouble. Along with the excursions that are expensive. Of cours the ladies who love to shop can do damage to the cruise cost.

As for the bashing they shall get over it life goes on more inportant things in the world to worry about then free drinks, hat and a coupon book.

beetle, please, please, please come back and post a review or just let us know how your cruise went. I think the low cost of TAs will attract a lot of people and it'd be great to get to get an fresh opinion on how the recent cuts effected your cruise, if at all.

I also agree that there has been too much RCL bashing on these forums.

If other cruiselines have cheaper prices, so what? Don't we live in a land of free enterprize. Besides if other cruiselines have cheaper rates that's OK. After all, only they know the value of their cruise.
