Default Things to do on 12 night Med. cruise on Brilliance of the Se

My family and I are going on a 12 day Med. cruise in July and will be going to the following ports of call. I am looking for as many ideas of things to do while in those ports in the time frames we are there. We are not big on using Royal Caribbean for excursions because it seems in the past we have been able to find better ones on our own, but if some of you know that there is a good one through RC please let me know that when listing the ideas for each port. If you have ideas of things to do and know the company name please give me those also. Thanks for all of your help.
Ports of Call:
Cannes (Monte Carlo), France 10am-8pm
Livorno (Pisa/Florence), Italy 7am-7pm
Rome, Italy 7am-7pm
Naples, Capri, Italy 7am-7pm
Venice, Italy 130pm on first day -3pm the second day (so in port little over 24 hrs)
Dubrovnik, Croatia 10am-6pm
Corfu, Greece 7am-7pm

The other 3 days of the trip we will be at sea. Thanks for all of your help.

We are also doing a med cruise in May on Voyager. We are using www.romeinlimo.com for our shore excursions in Rome and Florence. Have only read good reviews on them. Was in Venice, Cofu, and Dubrovnik in 07 on Splendour. Venice go to St. Marks square. You can catch a vapretto water taxi near the port and it will take you there. Buy a one day vapretto pass. We visited the walled city in Dubrovnik; the ship normally has shuttle buses to take you there. They run every 30 minutes; check with shore excrusion desk. In Coru we went to the Achilleon Palace, and a monestary. The monestary was nice the palace was no big deal

You can also take the vapretto (waterbus) to Murano were the they hand blow glass. I got some beautiful jewerly from there. The shops have some wonderful pieces. The vapretto DM (Direct Murano) will take you there. If you have a vapretto pass Venice is a great place to do on your own.
We went to a true venetian mask maker. The place was out of the main tour area. The masks were remarkable. The store is called Tragicomica here is the website. http://www.tragicomica.it/

I have heard romeinlimos.com is a good company although I'm not sure who we are booked our excursions through (my sil is doing it). We are going in June and hopefully will know more when we return.

I sure wish there was more information on here about this venice cruise as I would like to know what to do there also!

We are going to Florence, Pompeii, Monaco, and Rome on non-RCI tours but in Corfu we are taking the Dassai beach tour through RCI. We wanted to go to at least one beach on our vacation. We will try and do Dbrovnik and Venice on our own.

For Venice I would book tours ahead of time (now). The Doges Palace is a must. There are several others that you can have included. For Rome I would do the same thing-esp. if you are planning on seeing the Vatican. That will take most of the day. Florence if you get there-seeing the David is a must and that should also be booked ahead of time. All of these sell out in advance during the summer and going on your own you will be able to spend a little more time seeing what you want to see.

We used www.viatour.com and they were great. The only other place on your Itinerary that we went to last summer was Naples and we just used the RC shore excursion for Pompeii.

We used this service for three port stops in Italy on our Brilliance trip and I cannot recommend them more highly!! we were a family of 5 (3 teens) We had three drivers, and each gave us an amazing tour --

Just returned from 11 night best of europe on Voyager. We used romeinlimo for both Pisa/Florence, and Rome ports. I can say they are great. The met us at the ship, had airconditioned mini vans. They took us to places in addition to the normal tourist attractions; they can get u right up next to the tourist sites; where the big tour buses have to park blocks away. In Rome they got us tickets to the Colisium and the Vatican, so we didn't have to wait in line. We save over an hour of our time not having to wait in ticket lines. They are very knowledgeable about both ports and will have you back to the ship with over an hour to spare.
