Default Drinking age enforcement

The wife and I are taking our 2 twin 19 yoa sons on a cruise with RCCL Freedom of the Sea cruise ship. I understand the drinking age is 21. I would like to buy the boys a beer or two while on the cruise. Is the drinking age strictly enforced or is it some what lacks. Anyone know.

You may be able to get away with it at the pool bar or in one of the public area lounges. Their ages are coded onto their seapass card, so they won't be able to purchase alcohol or get into the 21 and over only clubs or lounges.

I don't know how seriously they enforce the drinking age on the ships. If the Spring Break cruises are any indication, then it would seem not very much.

But I never let my teens drink on the ship. In some ports, the drinking age is 18 and I would let them drink there... with me... never on their own.

I am guessing that if they are with their parents, then the crew will tend to overlook it.

I went on my first cruise when I was 19 and I had my bf bring me a few drinks here and there and nothing was ever said to me. I did go to a bartender and asked what a good drink was and he wouldnt tell me anything til i showed him my id. Also during dinner my soon to be mother in law ordered wine and the waitress came back and said I know Kacey is 19 is it ok for her to have wine also and they all said yea so i drank then to.
This was on a carnival cruise though.

Im going on Freedom of the seas next sunday!
