Default Shuttle in Venice?

We will be on Splendour of the Seas in Sept. and have booked a room post cruise right in the Piazzale Roma. Does RCCL run a shuttle from the pier to P.R. or is this walkable with luggage? Thanx in advance.

Here information on the Marittima Terminals. According to this you are walking distance from the terminal. Just make certain your bags roll. The article also says on Saturdays, Sundays, and Monday during the cruise season there is a free shuttle bus.

If you are staying a couple of days in Venice you might want to get either a orange Venice Card or a 12 to 72 hour ACTV tourist travel ticket. Both give you rides on the Vaporetto (water bus). Your hotel is not close to St. Mark's square so if you want to see it you need a water bus. Also the DM route takes you directly to Mureno (SP?) the glass blowing island, I loved our visit there.

The Vaporetto get crowded so don't try and take luggage on it. Also people don't wait in the line, when the Vaporetto comes everyone pushs into it. That really bugged my hubby, but it didn't bother me. Because I saw several Italian men give up their seats so elderly riders could have a seat. The no waiting in line is just a cultural thing. Here is information on the Vaporetto.

You can also take one of the water buses. I believe it is #2 and #51/52 which go around the outside.

Which hotel will you be in? I just got back from a 3-day stay in Venice.

It's been about a year for me. I miss it. Venice was my favorite. I guess the "Venice Card" changed to the the "Venice Connected pass." I would get it just for the free public toliets with map.

Thanx everyone. Glad to hear about the free shuttle katlady. We are staying at the Santa Chiara hotel right in the N.E. corner of Piazzale Roma.I dont believe we have any bridges to cross with our luggage.

At least one bridge you have to cross.
