Default Travel kettle?

Do balcony cabins on the Navigator of the Seas have tea/coffee making facilities? If not can I bring a travel kettle with me?

I've never seen a coffee machine. You can have coffee/tea delivered via room service. No need to bring a kettle.

They do not want you to bring travel kettles or coffee makers- fire risk.
They will confiscate them if found.

I agree, very easy to find coffee/tea in the buffet or use room service, I wouldn't bother bring a kettle.

That's irons. A lot of cruiselines actually provide them in rooms, ie. P & O

I think Independence of the Seas has an electric kettle in the room because they are based out of Southampton. To the best of my knowledge, it is the only ship in their fleet that offers this (it is also the only one to have heated pools)

The list of prohibited items is located here: http://www.cruise-chat.com/rules.html

Although it doesn't specifically list "tea kettle" it does list coffee maker so I'd expect a kettle to be illegal too since it is the same principle of operation.

Whether ships have approved kettles or coffee makers in the cabins can depend on the itinerary and passenger demographics. For instance, last summer on our Alaskan cruise, the Rhapsody had a kettle in all the cabins because it had just moved from the Far East where the largely oriental crowd pretty much demanded them according to the crew (I asked). I don't know if they ever got around to removing them.

Hi, we just got off Brilliance and a kettle was supplied in our stateroom (we weren't in a suite). This is the first time in 5 cruises we've had this, I wish we'd known and I would have brought coffee as only teabags, sugar and creamer were supplied.

We just returned from the Mariner (Pacific Northwest) and we had one in our JS. We never used it, just called room service and coffee was delivered within 15 minutes.
