Default Shops at the Miami Port

Hi! I now understand that I can bring soda/water on board, are there any shops on the Miami pier that sell drinks at a reasonable price? thanks again!

The short answer is no. The port is pretty isolated. The only thing I have ever seen there besides the buildings where you check in is a parking garage. Better buy your stuff elsewhere.

Best bet, is to stop somewhere along the way, before you reach the port. No, not much there in the way of stores.

Thanks, ya'll. My travel agent said there were places to purchase drinks at the port,.. crumb.....

I guess we might try to check in some bottles of water in the luggage and forget the sodas.

Thanks again,

Spike

Spike:

Do what you like regarding bringing bottled water onboard, but the water on the ship is perfectly fine. The water out of the tap in your cabin probably won't be real cold, but there's ice in your cabin. On deck, you can go to any bar and get ice water at no cost.

me thinks your TA has never been to the pier! maybe s/he means bayside marketplace which is NEAR the pier but not AT the pier...and where there is no place to buy stuff like that in quantity at a reasonable price.

There is (or used to be) a Walgreens a block off Biscayne Blvd down near the marketplace which is just down the street from the bridge that takes you to the port.

There is a crew store (seaman's center) directly across from the 2nd terminal and another small shop in the building that houses the Port offices and medical clinic. They're stocked with items that appeal more to the international mix of crew - but definately carry sodas and water.

One time we forgot some personal items, and went to the Walgreens off Biscayne Bay, the cab fare was reasonable and the prices were normal.

Not directly at the port but Bayside is on your way and has a couple grocery stores and there are nearby Walgreens and CVS on Biscayne Blvd.

I have never really been to a port where you could buy water and sodas.

Every port has some sort of crew welfare center that is generally stocked with snacks and drinks, along with phones/internet/money wire. The port of Miami is one of the most accesible ones. Also has a tennis court and swimming pool (that you can see from a google map)

I am not crew or have never seen any of these stores. If they exist obviously they have no signs like a grocery store.

The Walgreens is 1SE 3rd Ave Maimi Fl it is walking distance from the Holiday Inn. If the OP is staying overnight he can take the short walk there and get what he needs. Or just have the taxi stop by on the way to the pier. This Walgreens is not walking distance from the pier.
